I recently purchased this with a bunch of other gear from someone leaving the sport. However, based on some research, I feel this tank is too nice to just give to my kid to play some rec ball. Opinions? Is this bottle really 1 of 24? Does that really matter?

IMO a tank is a tank, those regulators are nice but if all my tanks had powerhiuse regs I wouldn't not let him use it just because of that. If your kid can rock an 80ci I'd say why not?
I say this having just bought a marker for my kid because although I use a G6r for recball a lot I refuse to let my kid use them 😅 was this perhaps an excuse to get another marker? MAYBE. I don't feel that way about tanks or loaders though.
For what it's worth the reg is a special release powerhouse reg from project, which retailed for $280 and sold out within 1 day so if that sways you in one direction or another, it's info worth havingComment

I'm laughing because I know how nice the marker you bought for your son is. 😂 SockeyeSteve may not be the best example in this way.

The tank is out of place with the setup I bought. I bought a purple etha3 w/ a purple hopper and a pair of purple masks. I already have a purple ninja tank(needs hydro at the end of the year). Best I can figure this tank was intended to used with his other marker, he sold a cs3 he had to someone else.Comment

The tank is just a tank, even "rare" tanks. The reg on that tank though could yield you some money if you wanted to sell it. Project cuts/anos sell for decent money, or if you want to keep the reg powerhouse makes a good product.
I'm a fan of Ninja regs but PH are all stainless threads which is a nice QOL upgrade. These regs especially the limited cuts like adrenaline, project or hormesis will sell for $200 all day to the speedball crowd.

Tanks aren’t collectable. Selling them is equivalent to selling used tires or break pads. Most people are just going to buy new unless you really sell at a discount.
the tank reg is the value. As long as it’s new enough to have replaceable reg seats. I think the counterpunch has replaceable regseats still. Powerhouse likes to discontinue replacement parts to force sales.Comment
