Proshields and 98 Customs

Hi guys,

I finally saw a marketplace deal I felt was worth checking out and the seller surprised me with some extra stuff they were looking to get rid of. I got a good deal, so I'm hoping to clean up the masks, get the 98s functional/sanded and repainted if it seems worthwhile, then sell them with the pod pack/hopper.

IDK what proshield prices are, but these are from 2017 if that makes a difference, odds are people on FB will have a different opinion but I'm curious as to what MCB thinks.

I'm mostly just looking for fair prices that will move quick, and ideally would just sell the masks and a marker to cover the purchase/rehab of both 98s with the goal of keeping one in exchange for my "labor".

I'm particularly curious about the lapco big shots, once has the bore marked as an outdated .689 but the other has no bore size noted.

Those Proshield remakes that look like a Flex but are just all hard plastic aren't desirable. As a whole, 30-40? Could part the frames for around 30-40 by themselves though and ears for 15ish probably.

New all black proflexes are like 80. I think maybe 50. And maybe 50 for the 98 with the barrel. Im not a barrel expert so I could be wrong

Yea I think the value of the 98 might be dependent on my ability to strip and repaint them, but I'm guessing the aftermarket barrel might add a little to the value.

To a Tippmann owner that body is immaculate. 😂 I think you can net $50 on those as they are. You could probably part the barrels and 98's for a few extra bucks but I doubt it would be worth the time/effort/risk.

Yeah the new “proshields” are not as desirable unfortunately. The frames still have value. When you said proshield I automatically assumed they were the older ones with thin frames. The older clean examples can bring $100.

Those are probably $45 each.

Those are basically a hard version of the Proflex. They only came in Green and Black I believe and were sold as more of a budget “flex” lenses lens frames and strap are the same but the ears are hard ears but shaped like the newer rubber Revo 2 ears and the bottoms are hard plastic vs the rubber bottoms on a flex. They are still a great mask just not as desirable.

Makes a world of sense, people seem to really love the og thins even compared to the new thins. I'm guessing parting them out on FB will be the wisest route unfortunately.

Yea I looked up a guide but the best one I could find was on pbn and was last updated in 2014. I can see why those ears would be sought after at least!

The ones that came on the older Revo mask are the real pricy ones. Often referred to at the Revo 1. Just like the Revo 2 rubber ones but are shaped like the old hard ears. Especially the white ones.

Id leave that paint job alone. Looks dope. And no matter how you paint it, it'll wear where it shows wear.

I'll probably end up stripping, polishing and painting at least one just because I enjoy the process and the project!

This comment. I’ve said this before too, they don’t bring money and I usually give them away for starters. Any mass produced marker from back in the day is usually not worth a resale

Ive been toying with picking up that pair for a while now. Only reason i havnt jumped on it is because i actually peffer stock barrels. But i am tempted...

Let me know if you end up wanting one or both. I'm probably gonna strip and repaint at least one just for fun but I'd be happy to let them go and break even because you always do fun stuff with projects!
