    Quickling’s markers

I started playing in 1997 with a minimag and a pgp. Minimag is long gone, as is the pgp. I remember that pgp, it was worked over by Sam Tussing, that’s one that I miss.

The longest owned marker that I have (and purchased it brand new) is a series 1 dark cocker. It always struggled to run as a cocker, rebuilt it as a pump, then with freeflow pnues and finally back to a pump which is where it will stay forever. Lately it’s my primary gun, though since we are starting to get back into tourney’s, the sterling is coming back into my life.

Next oldest gun that I still have is my sterling. I bought it after the 2003 CC 16, pump v semi game because I handled one and the pump stroke was amazing. In my original playing area there were no pumps, so other than that pgp there was no ability to shoot anything else. Ran into bad boys toys at the event and ended up buying the sterling after I got back, along with the sterling threaded edge kit.

This is the gun that I was using when the Rabid Squirrels were born and from 2003 to 2009 went to every tournament with me. I probably never would have set up the dark cocker as a pump if it wasn’t for the paint getting too small for the sterling. Now the paint in my area is running 685ish and the sterling is running the best it ever has.

Brown acid wash phantom. During one of the first EMR pump pandemonium games, I had a lovely green splash Carter pump cocker (really really miss that one). StrokerAce and I rode our motorcycles down to the event. With minimal space I had just enough room for 1 gun, my mask, pods, and clothes that were crammed into backpack and lashed to the tail.

There was still awesome prize give aways back then and during the after game raffles I told the gang that I was going to go back and start packing up, I never win anything anyways. Well… I ate those words with this generous prize from cci. I was so tight for space that adding the new gun meant I had to ride home wearing my paintball clothes and pod pack under my riding jacket!

        Pump karnivore

I think this was 2008ish? I don’t remember. Most of the squirrels were becoming scattered and we were doing less tourneys, but the dreams of getting the gang back together never die.

WGP released the “1 shot, 1 kill” mid blocked karni pumps to clear out the last of their bodies and I was lucky enough to get in on the second shipment that thankfully didn’t include the cringy laser engraving.

I spared no expanse setting it up with all the ccm parts including a pump kit with a thin pump plate. This gun is the lightest pump cocker I have ever held.

But honestly, despite loving the lines and it shooting very well… I have zero feelings for this gun and will probably sell it sometime when the market is good for them.

          Other guns:

Before I took a break in 2009ish, I set up a mag. Shoots nice, super quiet. Not heavy into semi play so it gets used a few games in an entire year.

Random phantoms. These belonged to EASix(6) and the last time we played together was PP at EMR in 2015. We all had a great time as a last hoorah with the original squirrels. He later got out of the sport and split his gear between StrokerAce and I. Sheridans to Stroker, Nelson’s to me. The stock class one has all of the goodies and will never be parted with unless it’s going back to 6. The other one was vsc but got converted to open class and spends its life as a loaner for new players.

            Wife’s markers:

Purple fade piranha that I bought so she can match my dark cocker. With new springs the hammer sometimes overrides the sear and it gets wonky, but hopefully that will work out in time.

Sterling bronze (spyder threads). So my wife plays maybe 3 times in 2020, then takes a break because of the birth of our first. We both get back into playing this year. She plays one day and tended to be pretty timid. Last game of her first day back and I toss her my sterling cause we might need a player for a pump tourney in December.

The bloody woman turns into a fricking machine and shoots out most of the other team including bunkering two guys. So naturally, I feared that she would steal my sterling and quickly found this one for her. Now we are the annoying couple that matches.
