But why a Proto barrel! on it? Guy also says he'll trade for "fun things" without providing any more info.... Maybe he'd like what MrBarraclough got thrown in as an extra with his Proto Rail.

Does proto barrel back have the same thread as DYE?
Look like a shorty DYE front to me, maybe he wanted to keep his Dye back
Just need to find a yellow one of clean one and you are good to go

I emailed that seller to ask if I should mail the lingerie back. Curiously enough, I haven't gotten a response so far.

And to answer the question: Dye and Proto barrel parts are entirely interchangeable.
