Any APAO vs. OPPA Any members here?

Just wondering if any of us old gods are current members of either players assiations. Don't know much about them.

Airsoft and Paintball Association of Ontario seems to be older and primarily Paintball. Ontario Paintball Players Association seems to be the the cool new kid on the block. I've seen their patches and stickers around too.

Just wondering if there's any members here or how one becomes a member, their events, and just how to get free swag mostly😄?

OPPA is mostly just a Facebook group the owner uses to advertise for fields, big games, stores, products, etc through his consulting business. It's also good for some bst/part finding and tech help if you want more local, but for the most part I would rather do that here.

There are some kind of dominant personalities on there that can be kind of toxic, but what group doesn't have that? Also the knowledge base on there is nowhere near as good as it is here.

If you want to join, just request to join the Facebook group and you're in, don't really have anything to lose. Also I think the owner might be on here? I've seen him on the MCB Facebook group.

Nothing, mostly just advertising and networking for businesses. It's really just an Ontario specific paintball forum (that's not very good because it's on Facebook).

I've been part of OPPA on Facebook for a while... I find the social influencers on there obnoxious so I unfollowed the group but check in once in a blue moon.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

            I read between the lines.

Well that was some good feedback. I was approved for both groups! Imagine that?

Also, how the heck does the OPPA one have 2700+ members? Are there really that many big game/rec/magfed ballers in Ontario? I've been to some big ass games at Wasaga, Flag Raders, and FlagSwipe... 800 to 1500 or so, but there were people from all over the US and Canada that came.

I think a lot of them are people who have a lukewarm interest in the game. Like they've played a couple times, and might own their own gear, but don't really know or care about paintball beyond that. Those are the kinds of people I see show up to fields mostly anyway...

Thanks again everyone. So, other than event info, local yokels like myself, a little bst, and some#growthesport talking heads, there's really no benefit to being a member?
