I'm not saying it's not a pot metal frame, but that's a '98 body or newer and I'm pretty sure they had switched to plastic frames by then.

It's entirely possible it's an older frame, just way too hard to judge by the photos - I think a potato was involved in taking them.

In the second photo it looks like there's a chip in the paint on the trigger guard and around the top of the grip. But it could also be dried paint.

I saw that, but it also looks like there's paint splatter on the body as well, which led to my post.

Were the plastic frames single screw mount for the grips?

Yup, plastic versions of the original single hole potmetal gripframes, which were based off Sheridan frames AFAIK.
