    Moving to Virginia

Cross posting here because, I guess Virginia is considered more southeast vs north!

Currently in Utah, where I met my wife who is from VA. Now that we have a young kid and no family here, we decided Virginia would be the best place for many reasons.

We will be staying with family near Staunton for a bit at first before finding our own spot, but will be sticking around the Shenandoah Valley.

Hoping to find other MCBers to chat with before the move and eventually hook up with. Looks like Skyline and Stonewall are the two nearest fields to where we will be staying. Have a feeling I will be going to Skyline most often.

Hit me up! I will need new friends.

Its pronounced STAN-ton no idea why
Welcome to the East coast, I played at Skyline years ago and enjoyed the scenarios out there.

Staunton is the closest city to me.
Looking for lodging ~ East of Staunton brings you closer to civilization. West brings you to bug-out country, the George Washington/Jefferson reserve (twice the size of Rhode Island with only three main roads) and the Green Bank dead zone (world's largest steerable radiotelescope) that blanks out cell phones.
I've played at Stonewall, never Skyline. It's pretty dead out here compared to what I was used to, which is surprising with a couple of colleges nearby (Bridgewater & JMU).

We'll be in Mount Sidney with the in-laws for a little bit. Do you still get out to play often?

Such a beautiful area in the valley. State wide, watch out for the cops. DO NOT SPEED.

I'm in Fairfax. I play at Pev's the most, but I've also played at North Mountain, Hogback, and Skyline. Pev's usually has the most players for walk on play. They also have a ton of fields, although several of them aren't really well maintained anymore.

I’m in Loudoun and usually play at Pevs or Hogback. The turnout at Pevs is decent. I prefer Hogback during the summer because there is more shade in the woods.

What is the turnout like at Hogback on most weekends? I haven't played there in awhile.

It can be hit or miss. Some days there are 20 or more walk on players with about 5 or more with their own equipment. Other days there may be less than 10 walk on players. If you’re there to have fun it will be a good time.

Hogback is on my list of places to try. Along with Skyline, Stonewall, Wolf's Ridge, North Mountain in WV, Pev's, Splat Brothers

Please post if you plan to go to either Hogback or Pevs. You’d be my first MCBer met in real life.

Will need to plan ahead a bit for those since they're a couple hours ish of driving one way, so double that for driving back. Skyline is still the closest at the moment, haven't made it m out yet

Hoping to make it out before it gets too cold. We're staying with the in laws until we find out next house. Skyline is just over an hour drive, and met a dude on Facebook who plays often with his two sons. They also frequent North Mountain in WV, which is almost 2 hours for me. Hopefully whatever house we get is much closer to a field!

Skyline is a little over an hour away from me too. There was some chatter on the local Discord about playing this weekend but the weather doesn’t look good.

I saw that as well, looks like a lot of rain unfortunately. Was planning on Sunday but guess it will have to wait until next weekend. Let's keep in touch though and combine our MCB powers.

It looks like the rain is moving out and Skyline looks to be about 2 hours up Rte. 81 for me.
Next weekend would be better for me; I could use a little MCB face time.

Yeah I am planning next weekend, not sure Saturday or Sunday yet (but likely Sunday). Maybe CheapChi can also join!
