My review of the PWR barrel kits. In news that should come as a shock to no one, that Simon guy seems to know what he's doing. If you like insert kits, these are about as good as it gets right now. Really hope a machinist picks up boring for them (my machines are way to small).

Nice job on the review. So any of the current Stella fronts work with the PWR back and inserts?Originally posted by MAr "... Nish deleted it..."

So what is the best way to test fit for bore size? I've only ever done the blow-thru test.

Same here. I think the general idea is to do the test and then go another size down for a "true" underbore. Especially with how inconsistent paint is these days.

Check this out, well enough explained for me at least. https://youtu.be/1N1zj6Uoszc

For underboring, anything under within .005 is good. That actually gives you pretty huge leeway. Basically, toss in a close bore size, do the blow through, then drop down from there. Or if you can push paint in with a little effort, but can't blow it through---should be good. Once you go over .005 for the underbore, you'll get drag and notice shots hooking all over the place.

Great review -and nice website, I also enjoyed your review of the Emek.
I got a PWR kit for my FLE Emek (polished back + 3 inserts + polished ported front) and use it with my matching anoed Genesis tip. Quality kit at a fair price, as is usual with anything ID.Playing the game since 1990
