My review for the GX CS4 Compressor. If you're looking for a home compressor to fill your paintball tanks, this latest entry is easily the best I've found. Solves a lot of the issues with the other options and works extremely well. If you have questions on it, ask away!

Love the review, but now I have questions about the CS3. I have 50 ci & 68 ci, both 4500 psi, and a 13 ci 3000 psi. If I just cared about partial fills (let's say half), and only on occasion (like the off-season in the dead of winter), could the CS3 handle my needs?

Yeah, it can knock that out and the 13 would be FAST. I had thought about keeping my CS3 for that exact reason, but actually probably letting it go. This thing is just a beast.

I quit using my Yeung Hang after about 5 fills. The impossible to stop oil blow by and its capability to catch grass on fire (yes, it did) was enough for me to put it on the top shelf in the barn forever. This is promising, and realistically, priced well for the performance.

I stopped using mine after the 4th one died, and for the life of me, I could not get it to build pressure again. I consider myself pretty decent with machines---I've rebuilt entire lathes and have made 25k in paintball products at this point---and I could not get it to work right again. And around that time, I put a scar on my arm by accidently touching a hot pipe on it for a quarter of a second.

These are better. A lot better.

hows the air quality compared to the yeung hang? cleaner fills? i have the double gold filter setup on my yh and find the fills arent as good as at the field. i suspect the air isnt dry enough and all the heat hurts the actual fill

I'm actually not the best person to ask about that. I live in CO, where the air intake is bringing in air with near 0 humidity. No matter what, with my air, there is always some oil and water that is a biproduct of the air compression BUT I get less than most and the big gold filter really takes care of it.

do you find the fills are better in general compared to the YH.?

Honestly, better. There's absolutely a LOT less of the oil/water smell. That was always something that made me nervous with the YH, to the point that I wouldn't use one without the gold filter. These make me a lot less nervous. The bottle would smell of it with the YHs I had (and I have had 4). I do not notice it with these, even without the gold filter. I wouldn't think that the internal filter here is perfect, but it seems a lot better.

Hows the noise and vibration? Was thinking of buying one, then running it in the bathroom with the bathroom exhaust fan on, with the door closed.

It's pretty good, actually. I have it in a room with the door shut and can watch TV in the next room with no issue. Where are you in CO? I'm in Arvada. I you're close, I'd literally let you see and hear it run.

I live in a town where it is hard to get tanks filled and I was getting sick of doing the Scuba tank thing. So I went ahead and picked one of these up. While my time with it is very limited thus far, if this little compressor turns out to be durable, it’s a no brainer even at the current price. I filled 2 68ci tanks last night from 0-4000 in about an hour. For me, this thing will easily pay for itself as long as it holds up.
And just like the OPs review, it is relatively quiet and runs cool. My tanks were just slightly warm at the end of the fill cycle. I did go ahead an order an additional inline water separator to help keep more of the liquid out of the tank, but the one built in to the unit was definitely catching most of it.

Got mine today and set it up. filled 3 68ci tanks continuously. 34 minutes on the nose per tank. didn't break a sweat it seemed. will report back after a bunch more fills. first impressions very good! hopfull it holds up.

the only thing that left me wondering if I did it right was the coolant - I used undiluted anti-freeze at a 7:3 coolant to water ratio like you describe -it seems to be fine, but I worry about corrosion over time. how did you come up with that ratio - I could not find any info on that in the directions.

Talked directly to the manufacturer and did it exactly as he told me

as long as its for undiluted anto freeze to start, good enough for me!

Use distilled water to mitigate corrosion. Tap water has chlorine and other additives that harm metals.
