Like many people around here it seems, I am coming back to the sport after a long hiatus. I started playing in high school back in 1998 I think and played until 2009. Starting a family and new career cut into my personal time, but I always said I'd come back when my son turned 10. Well, he turned 10 this summer and he said he wanted to try paintball, so I took him out a couple weeks ago. I dug all my gear out of the crawlspace and tried putting something together for us. With the parts I had on hand, I cobbled together a working Spyder for him and threw a pump kit on my cocker to have something that worked. As my favorite local field had closed, we tried out the field that more or less replaced the old one. He absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave, so we're going again next Sunday. It felt so good to get back on the field even though I'm way more out of shape now. I ordered a bunch of parts to get some of my other markers running, new tanks as mine were all past the 15 year mark, and stuff to get my flex 7s back in working condition. All the new stuff on the market is almost overwhelming, but I'm having a blast catching up. I always remembered mcb having a great collection of knowledgeable people so I decided to come here to try and get back into a paintball community. I'll probably post up my collection in the near future once I take some updated pictures. I'm so glad to be playing paintball again, I feel like I found something I've been missing for quite a long time.

Welcome back, and even more importantly...welcome to your son! The next generation of paintballers. To bad you didn't let him use your pump cocker though. He could have experienced paintball as God intended it!

I am definitely open to that, I told my son I wanted to try new fields next year. It helps that my brother lives about a half hour from there in Brookfield, so i could make it a weekend and crash there.

evilfishsticks Yes, let us know. Siege has indoor airball. After X-Mas I could probably make the trip down a time or two as well.

Always a good time at The Siege and ChoSanJuan and the regulars are a great group! Hadn't played for 14-15 years and they have made coming back to the sport extremely enjoyable even if I do have to drive 3.5 hours to join them all at The Siege haha. I doubt I would have ever come back if not for the both the awesome field staff and ChoSanJuan's crowd
