Magfed is kind of like an evolution of pump play...I dig it

Magfed is looking like the fun of recball that got me into the sport with the same personal limitations ($) that kept me from continuing to play when the electros took over.
I have a few old junkers I'm going to tinker with to convert to magfed and see how it goes from there. I can't afford 57 magazines across multiple platforms the same as I could never afford to spray & pray a case of paint per game - at my pinnacle I would buy a case to play a weekend long scenerio with a mech-semi and end up taking 1/3 or more home.

Most people playing mag are cosplaying their favorite FPS. They are attracted to the tan colored plastic more than the style of play. They are often new players and therefore don’t really have a great deal of opinions on the style of play.
There are for sure actual mag fans who know what they are doing, but it’s also true that some people who own a Corvette actually know how to drive it...the exception rather than the rule. I think with a lot of these guys, the 18 year olds, it’s maybe their first gun or nearly.
I just hope the fans of mag who moved “down”, as it were, from real paintball guns because of less paint-crazy play style, or maybe they came from airsoft and they want less cheating, whatever, I just hope they have tried normal old pump guns. They’d save a ton of money for one thing, and they wouldn’t have to haul all that plastic crap back to the staging area with them.
Seriously guys, go buy a open class Trracer and play a few games with that. If you’re not happy I’ll comp you the $42.67.

Hey Cunha you should come down to San Luis Obispo and play at Gladiator Paintball on December 5-6. We are having a Pump vs Magfed game over 2 days. Camping onsite is available, and i'm sure you'll be able to see every Mag-fed configuration out there."What could go wrong?" - Sethzilla!

Playing since 1986: Stock, Pump, Mech, Electro, tourney, but now mostly rec.

I don't even want to say the words mag fed outloud man.
It's one thing to like first strike ballz. Mag fed is another matter to me.
I would consider being mr money bags and just playing first strike exclusively for the super hacker range.
Gladiator does sound fun, I've been there once it wasn't a bad racket.

I too am returning back to the sport after about a 17 year or so break. My 9 year old saw my old gear coming out of the attic and was like.... WHAT IS THAT!!!! I WANNA DO THAT!!!!
So..... we started playing about a month ago, Im shooting all mech (autococker) and I got an electro for him. I forgot how much fun this all is, even the spending money part... lol.

ChoSanJuan...that is awesome brother! Enjoy those days man! I am sure 9 will turn into 24 fast enough with my little dude.
Hes gotten beatup a few rounds pretty good, and still wants more. Surprises me how tough he is at times, though he wont take his mask off cause he's a little wrecked and don't wanna show it.

Well...we went out yesterday, and got sucked into being fodder for what I call the team guys that practice on the air ball field regularly. Levi made it out unscathed, but I got tore up a few times. I ended up playing the snake. I haven't done that in about 15 years! I did manage to dish some pain. But for some reason, I feel like its not what I received!
Cocker vs Electro..... I gotta work harder on being a better player! lol
Like one of the Refs here say, Go out and shoot people and make friends!

Have you got out since the end of Jan?
It backfired a little bit last Saturday when I had a guy who looked the part but wasn't very experienced didn't quite make it to the bunker like he should have. I caught it on video. He was fine but honestly it was pretty scary for a second. I kept running and gunning to be sure no one shot him until he could get himself together. I cut out the conversation before that happened where he wasn't sure he could make it to his bunker (he may have been right). He tried to slide on one knee and he got caught on something. But I knew he could make it without anyone shooting at him, I just didn't expect him to slide. He told me he wasn't that fast but he out-ran me the whole way(51 year old legs vs. 20 something year old legs)! But normally it works out fine and the players have a better time getting to a spot on the field and getting to play.-------------

I think that the best thing for new players is to find a field that splits the experienced players from the newer/less competitive players entirely.
