I feel your pain, I think the closest pro shop for me is at least a 3 hour drive. I have played the ordering paint online, and I lose every time.
If I am grabbing paint to shoot for testing in my back yard, I can get paint at Dick's Sporting Goods for cheap. However, when it comes time to shoot others in some rebel ball, I refuse to use Dick's paint, it is way too hard and I am not trying to scare off new players we dragged out into the tick filled woods in Maine.
I have ordered from ANS, and I ordered 100 counts of all different kinds of paint, and shot it all to see which I liked best. Problem is when I reordered the same paint in cases, it just shot different. I assume it is a macro version of the butterfly effect. It might be great coming from ANS's doorstep, but who knows how many times it is transferred tossed around, and in the Winter, how long it sat in freezing temps.
No matter where I order from, or what I order it always shows up heavily damaged, so I have a whole process of rolling it out immediately, and keeping it open in a very dry room (my office has a dehumidifier and I try to keep it at 40% humidity. Then the next day I double bag it in ziploc bags with a handful of desiccant packets (I have a ton of extras from 3d printing). They seem to hold for a very very long time like that.
So I usually order from Virtue for their paint when it goes on sale. It is hit or miss, but seems like better odds that all others I tried. My best bet is buying extra from the fields I play at in the summer and storing it at my place.

Lol, don't worry about it being brittle.

When i was playing alot we bought a pallet of xo paint and we think it froze at some point. Worst paint ever lol brittle as shit we tried all the tricks to get it to work but it all didnt work. Lots of shit paint and they didnt want to help at all to exchange, had a hell of a time. Did shitty at the next tourny. We def had alot of practice cleaning our barrels, the tourny paint we bought from xo was good but the non exchange thing really messed up everything

I’ve ordered Graffiti off Amazon with zero issues multiple times. I’m in a college town though so I even get same day deliveries from Amazon once in a while.
If you live above the article circle or in Guantanamo Bay or Putin’s Palace or wherever you are though…if paint has to travel for days by truck or military helicopter or tunnel boring machine or whatever to get to you…it’s all going to show up broken.
VERDICT: there are advantages to joining civilization.

I'm gonna also recommend you bite the bullet and go to the pro shop that's an hour and a half away. That, or, buy an extra case of paint next time you are playing (I will get a case when I typically only need a bag or two, but I only play pump).
I hate buying paint online and have never had luck doing it. So I occasionally make the run to the pro shop that is 2 hours away from me....worth it every time!Â
If it's still too much to make the run for extra paint, definitely get a squirrel sack or something so you can clean up the paint after it arrives.

I should start selling broken old paint online. Apparently there’s big money in it. Guaranteed half of the balls are broken and the other half, none of the balls are the same diameter. Guaranteed that I’m going to be rich, all you guys will buy cases just to complain online with your cohorts.

Ahh good ol department store paint, anyone remember that horrible hard ass paint called monsterballs, fields had to ban it cause it wouldnt break on a hard surface 5 feet away, it was some pretty rough stuff, and the tiger stripe paint was just trash, spyder and tippmann paint was ok, but i havent played in about 5 years so idk what's out there for paint anymore
when I was getting paint from Walmart or whatever I always got the 3 star draxxus paint and it was usually half decent but idk if they still even make paint

Haha, that's funny, I just purchased a case of paint from Dick's yesterday afternoon as well. Let me guess, it's a case of Triumph, and it's coming from York, PA, correct? My package is supposedly coming in on the third, but I highly doubt it as I just placed the order and so far, all they've done is print the shipping label, so realistically I think it'll be here on the fifth. I wish us both the best of luck that it will be fairly fresh within reason though. Oh, and I see above that your concerned that it may be brittle. Well so far, It's the only paint I've really used (PB noob here, plan on becoming active this summer) and I can assure you that it is nowhere close to being brittle as it's pretty much just rebranded G.I. One Star from my understanding, so don't worry, it should be fine for your purposes.

Well to my surprise my case of Triumph was delivered today too like FedEx promised, about an hour ago. I wish you luck when you get home though because for me my case was shipped in its original retail box with a simple shipping label slapped on top, that's it. No generic brown shipping box sleeved over its retail box or any bubble wrap inside to protect the bags of paint. As such it arrived at my door freezing and with three out of the four bags having broken paint inside. For $33 total after shipping and tax I'm not really pressed about it as I know it's a cheap practice paint anyway but to be charged an extra $8.99 shipping fee just for them to slap a label on the retail box and dump it off at the local FedEx store rubs me the wrong way. They should have at least packaged it properly. FedEx did their job admirably though with how quick it came. My minor complaint is with Dick's hasty shipping department. I don't know how long this paint is going to last me but if by time I run out and it's still on sale I'm going to try Shop4Paintball's Blood Ball next. Trade my gun has a sale on it at the moment for $30 per case WITH free shipping. Had I come across it before I placed my order for the Triumph paint, I would have bought that instead. Anyways enough rambling on. Good luck with your order and have a great rest of your day man.Last edited by MJB360; 01-03-2024, 06:50 PM.
