I go by myself, or at least did until meeting some cool people who I'll message when I plan on going again. Even if no one else can, I'll still go. I only play casual walk on so it's all good.

Camo can be fun to an extent, but really doesn't do much.

Looks like you may be around STL. Just missed an awesome pump game at Xtreme, but they run it annually along with other games and the field is the best I’ve been to. I drove up there myself and met so many great people and made quite a few new friends. Think you’d likely have a good time checking it out solo on any day, but especially for one of these events.

Yes, April 27th and 28th. Xtreme paintball park near St. Louis MO will be hosting this wonderful 2 day event. As usual pump only games, and blind draw 3man tourney on Sunday. Saturday evening after we play will be a BBQ dinner and hang out, feel free to bring whatever drink you prefer, just no alcohol consumption until games

I personally haven't had much luck going solo to fields but I'm sure it's possible if the crowd is right and you get some good rapport. Camo isn't unusual by any means (unless your field is all airball). Usually people playing pump or mech would choose an older school camo jersey (ie Tiger Stripe, Realtree Advantage etc) but I wouldn't call wearing ATACs BDUs a faux pas (although it might not be agg).

          I go solo to fields.

I am there to paintball with whoever is willing!

only days it doesn’t work out are the days I am the only one to show up which is rare.

I wouldn't worry much about what your wearing. Camo is going to be far from the oddest thing you see someone wearing on the field if you play long enough.

If you are gonna be sneaky avoid bright colors. Unless you don't mind then go bright tyedye.

This is why I like older guns, or weird guns. I have so much fun talking about the things and shooting them. It's fun and an easy talking point.

A good conversation starter for me is always with all my gear on, I go up to people that look like it might be the first time or only a few times and ask them jokingly to take it easy on me. I also sometimes do it with people that look like they know what they're doing. People always laugh and start talking. Then I go into have you played before or how long have you been playing. An easy way to get people to break down and talk. And of course asking what people are shooting if they have their own gear is a great way to break the ice.

For the most part when I was actually playing I went by myself, never had a problem with it some days everyone was quiet the others everyone's telling war stories having a blast, although I was usually the guy everyone wanted on their team and that can get a little annoying, just go out and have fun I mean that's the whole point anyway right plus the rental players will probably find the camo cool and think your some "sniper" 😂

Funny, I remember one member on the board playing in a jockstrap and tennis shoes, earning the name "MoonGod" and we aren't talking heavenly bodies.
(He doesn't use that name here)
I, myself used to play with long puffy white sleeves, a bright green vest, a wide red sash and a gold headwrap. Part of why they called me "pirate".
I didn't want the other guy saying "Oh, they shot me" ~ I wanted them to say "That guy shot me".

To the OP, I've been playing for 36 years now, hundreds of games at dozens of fields in numerous states from California to Florida to Georgia and most of New England.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've gone with someone. Often to meet someone special but nearly always going on my own resources.
As far as camo, I can say I've always found Hunters camo far more effective than Military styles.

Camo at a woods ball field, that's what you are supposed to wear. That being said in this weird wonderful game we play I've seen people wear tuxedos and Christmas story bunny suits. Ball your ball, don't worry about what the other guy is wearing. As for going solo when I got back into the game as an "adult" I was going by myself it took some time before people started recognizing me and now I have a crew of the best paintball players from across New England that I see more regularly than friends from across town.

I like to show up with old janky pump guns in jeans and a t shirt. That's my camo, I dress like I'm a new guy 😆

                        This is my build also.

The one thing I always keep high end is the mask - Dye i5 or similar. Maybe a bit of a giveaway.

Welcome friend! this is definitely a great place to start to find a local community to play with.

For me, I played tournaments for a quite a few years and now Im back to how I first started playing. Just show up to the field with a pump and some old camo!

Walk on pump will always hold a soft spot in my heart. Go out, buy a bag, and if theres not a big turn out, OH WELL! you only bought a 15 dollar bag and you got outside for part of the day!

Laidback paintball is the best paintball in my mind.

This is me at last years slims in my favorite camo button up.

I started playing this year. Went with a group from church and rented. We all had a blast, and said we would do it again. That was in January, they haven't been back since. I picked up a few things to get me started. It was nervous about going by myself, but I quickly made friends with other walk on players and the refs. I only do recball on Saturdays. the Tefs treat us regulars like extra refs. We play easy on the rental parties. I actually just got a pump trilogy to make the games more of a challenge.

That's how you do it. Where are you located? I'm sure there's some MCB brethren in your area.
