I have no idea what I'm doing.

I think I remember some of you from Supergame in Oregon, I was with Dutchcommando. Supergame was my second time playing after SC Village in SoCal. As I stated, I really have no idea what I'm doing, I'm having to translate from my short time in the Army and owning the real thing in my 20s. I did acquire 3 markers at Supergame, but Dutchcommando is working on them. What information would any of you have for someone new?

To start off with decide how much you will play in a year. (Weekly, monthly, yearly, special events, etc)
Decide what you want to play. (Speedball, rec ball, woodsball or renegade)
List out the current equipment that you have ie markers, masks, packs, pods, etc.
Once you have done that I can give some more info.
Also what is it you would like to know? The inner workings of an autococker this is a great place to learn. The best paintball marker, that will be debated till the end of paintball.

When moving up the field get behind the bunker you are going to first then move forward, keep your head at least 3-4 inches below the top of the bunker as you do so. This will increase your chances of moving up without being seen. Leaning how to do this effectively is the most important part of being sneaky in paintball. Master this and you can sneak up on people while wearing neon

Also always hold the marker in the side you are shooting out of, meaning if looking out the left side of cover hold the marker left handed, right side right handed. Practice this if need be, but paintball markers aren't supper accurate so your proficiency with your off hand is less important than not over exposing.

Keep your gun up, when your look out the side of your bunker to shoot and plan to look you the same side don't drop your aim. This will make your first shot on hte next peak more accurate and faster than if you had to completely re-aim.

Sorry if this is hard to read im pretty drunk rn.

I would also suggest watching this movie! Many will tell you that it is the greatest, most informational, and accurate paintball movie.

Except for the whole premise that wiping is treated so seriously that a guilty party is so ashamed disappears to work on offshore oil rigs for a few years lol. I mean I WISH it were that big of a deal

But it is one of the cool B- or C- movies to see a few big stars working before they got famous

Gloves, neck guard, athletic supporter. They don't charge for them what they are worth.
A small package of microfiber cloths will be your friend. You can wipe off the splatter and hits on your lens between games. Keep one in your pocket for that purpose.
A bottle of paintball marker oil should last a year. Use a few drops at the beginning of the day, don't ever put any INTO your air tank, and you're good.
              Loose clothing is another friend.
Get a comfortable mask with an anti-fog lens. Make sure the store you're at has replacement lenses on the shelf. It's a bad reflection of the product if the merchant isn't sustaining it.
You will, at some point, regret not having a bottle of hand sanitizer and a roll of the soft blue shop towels. This point usually occurs about midday, or after a trip to the taco truck, and only at fields that don't have plumbing.
Motorized hoppers are a good investment 95 percent of the time, but you probably don't need any one of the three most expensive ones on the shelf.
              Listen to the refs.
              Follow the rules.
Don't put hpa into a co2 tank, and vise versa.
A cooler and drinks are always nice to have. Granola bars and beef jerky keep up the calories without being too heavy.
You'll see nicer gear than yours most of the time. About half of that time the person using it has not been playing more than two years.
There are no thieves in the Army or in paintball, so lock up your stuff.

              Hope this helps, and enjoy!

                Let's see where to start

Don't forget your footwear when going to play... Twice, or you might end up with a call sign of "slippers"

Don't shoot a teammate while hanging out in the respawn area or you might end up with a call sign like "point blank"

On a more serious note, invest in a good mask, it's easily your most important piece of gear

Don't pigeon hole yourself into one style of play. Not yet anyway, keep your options open

A 98 custom from the swap meet, an Impulse from one of the vendors, and a some kind of pump gun that one of you from the potluck gave me. I don't remember the name of it, we were all drunk at the time.

It's certainly informative. I really miss when the internet was full of weird stuff like this. If you look ahead in time, you'll find out that a lot of the guys behind stuff like this are now into the business for real being actors/writers/editors.

                    Buy a really good mask.

I'm happy to shoot whatever. Give me a slingshot, an old rental, 20 years later I still happily play with rental guns. I'll spend much more on my mask than on the marker. I was given this advice when I first started and it was definitely excellent advice.

I'd probably go with a Dye i5 but you do you.

Since when did they sell Dye gear at Walmart?!
