    not necessarily new… but technically…

Good evening yall, I used to play over a decade ago and was wondering if there have been any ‘game changing’ type products or brands that have come out in the last 10 years I should know about. I was never super into e-markers and liked old pump guns but im all ears for any suggestions. I’m also in the market for a new high end-ish mask if you folks have any suggestions. Big thanks!

That which worked for you 10 yrs ago will work for now. New Goggles or at least lenses would be a must and the same big players in goggles pretty much still there. So if you still have any of your gear, clean it up, tune it up and go play. If you are needing gear look in the B/S/T forums and start picking stuff up.
          • Are there new things out there? Yup.
          • Has there been any significant advancements? Nope
          • If I had to buy a "new" marker what would I get?
            • Semi - Planet Eclipse, EMEK, M170R or M180R simply they are great, reliable mech markers
            • Pump Open Class - Meteor pump
            • Pump Stock Class - Phantom (even EV but would prefer original CCI)

Like Grendel said I think the Emek is the biggest thing that's happened to paintball in the last decade or so. Super high quality for a low price with bulletproof reliability. Think a spool valve 98.

For masks if you have the ability to try different ones on I highly recommend it, cause your mileage will vary. My favorite higher masks in no particular order:
            • Virtue Vio (I like the Extend, but most of their higher level masks are extemely similar, I think these are the best value for any newer mask)
            • Bunker Kings CMD (uses the same lens as Vio, but has a tiny built in visor and is slightly more agg)
            • CRBN Zero Pro (pricy, but very high quality. I love these masks, but some people have had fogging issues so be cautioned)

Got any 10 year old Proflex’s ? You could be sitting on some paintball equity.

Hahahaha on a second pass it does read like a joke but no I assure ya you guys have been super helpful. Cool to see some more bang for our buck on the e-mech side, I remember that world being dominated by things that chopped paint like crazy like 98s or spyders. Will check out those masks! Not familiar with any of those names so im curious to see what’s up, I remember the Vforce profiler and if that’s still being sold my gut is with ya Grendel, probs many things just repackaged if 10+ year old products are still players in the market.

Unfortunately sold off all my guns around college, so nothing to dust off other than a for-parts automag🙃 unlike back then I can spend a little more on a marker now so I was looking to maybe splurge on a palmers or Carter(if they’re still around). from what I understand PPS is sort of defunct at the moment? Realistically I might land on a custom phantom if those aren’t options atm, I’m hesitant to start browsing the BST, that can turn into a bad habit ahahaha.

Thank you folks for all the suggestions!

Palmers is pretty much done, they just sell what they have left now. There are some of us still building custom brass though.

oh damn proflexes are also still being made new too lol also. I haven’t thought about the word agg in so long that unlocked a piece of my brain that I didn’t know still existed. the post ironic/camp usage is kinda sick tho, I’m curious if it’s still as hated as back then 🤣

I wouldn't recommend Palmers at this point, but that Automags might be worth getting running again.

The uncapped BPS race seems to be over for Electro's at this point and now mechanical semiauto guns are pushing to get the high BPS that match the capped speedball rates of fire.

Phantoms are still great but I will caution that the new owners are having growing pains, they are innovating though.

Find some gear you like, meet up with some of us jokers in your areas and get your feet wet.

Just remember to feed Carp daily. He gets grumpy if he misses a meal.

Yes! So cool to see so many of the custom shop jobs offered from factory like frame thru air and detents.

Look into a pneumag. It's all mechanical, stupid fast, reliable and a blast to shoot. Next time I'm looking to spend money, I'm going after a Luke's wave.
