    Resurrecting a Mini-Mag for a Wee Person

Hello all. I don't think I have been on here in over 10 years. Got tired of tinkering with my mags and moved on to a 170R after my oldest son picked up a GTEK and my poor mags were in bad shape (I didn't keep them up). Now my youngest (9) has been playing with me for almost a year now and rented 10+ times. He wants his own gun and I was thinking of buying a EMEK to get him started but then I remembered my oldest used this for quite some time. I can't find my rebuild kit and I think it was for my xvalve anyways. Looking for best place to start with rebuilding this thing. The air stock seems just right for him and will put him an air-line on it. The hopper needs a battery door (don't they all) and will have to see if my old 12v rechargeable still works. I may end up just grabbing one of the Dye LT-R jobbies. Anything else you would recommend or places where I should look for kits anymore?

Get some BW detents for those twistlock barrels. Far superior to the plastic or wire AGD.

BW Twistlock Detents – Bearded Works LLC https://share.google/ta39RNUw5PuUF6EYF

They are very tough. A 5 pack will last quite a while.

Should be fine with the rebuild kit. Maybe toss it a pond to clean it up lol. It will be fine

You could add this adapter for autococker threading. From doc nickel. https://docsshop.storenvy.com/collec...barrel-adapter

For $300 there is a nice gmek in electronic, $100 gets a mech frame for it. Do both?

Use a lighter hopper. A pinokio speed or HK speed or vl revvy

The halo is like a pound heavier and really is hard to handle for a kid.

Leaking out of the back now after changing everything I could see to change. I am using HPA and which I have used these same tanks with these in the past. I don't believe they are set below 800 psi. Troubleshooting from manual says potentially reg seat which I believe is the thick yellow dude on the right that the reg piston slides into. Thoughts?

If it’s straight out the back , I have had luck backing the velocity adjuster all the ways out and kind of separating the spring back in there as it was a little gummed up. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Does it have a Level 10 bolt?

Might need a new regulator piston. Mine blew when I put a Lvl 10 on my classic. The input pressure to get to FPS desired was too much. These replacements are set for a higher input pressure to work with Lvl 10, or just a general replacement if needed. Screw out the velocity adjust, drop out the old and drop in the new one.
The Regulator Piston comes as an assembly. DO NOT take this apart. It has a built in blow-off valve that will leak air if your marker becomes over pressurized. The blow-off resets once your pressure goes back to normal. This safety feature is found exclusively in AGD markers. Replace the entire assembly if your marker

Did you replace the reg seat? If not flipping it can often fix the issue of a leak out the back. Don't forget to lube the gun as well. Turn the velocity adjuster way back then try to dial in the velocity from scratch. Sometimes that reg seat just needs to be worked in a little.
Is it always leaking of just at a certain point? Do you know what fps you are hitting? As a point of reference your around 280fps when you have just 3 or 4 threads showing on the velocity adjuster. Often times leaks occur when your above 300fps with a sketchy reg seat.

Brand new reg seat. I will thread in the velocity adjuster more just to be sure but I think there are 2 threads showing at the moment to get it started

I don't think so? Its been awhile and I may have tossed a different bolt on it. I let someone take the parts and some of guns to tinker with but they didn't return the parts. Had some extra bolts, shims, spacers, and such. The bolt I have is missing the foamie.
