Man I just got some great news this evening, I'll be off an IV and feeding tube just in time for this! Was definitely already going but figure I'd have to be careful with the IV line and stupid feeding tube hanging out the nose... Very excited to get these bad mama jamas out and ball with MCB'ers again!

Had a fun walk on preview of Caveball. There were enough people they opened up field 1 and 2 for a big a$$ field! This will rule!

Whats the name of the BBQ place you guys loved. Im just looking at maps trying to get my bearings for the local area, and it seems there is an abundance of BBQ options, so Im wondering what you locals prefer.

Saying KC has "an abundance of BBQ" is an understatement . The place we hit last time was Smokin' Guns BBQ, as it is good a probably the closest to the field.

EDIT: Wanted to add there are a bunch of great places in North Kansas City, right up the street from Jaegers. Many breweries, with my favorites being Cinder Block and Outlaw (as it is also a cigar shop).

I've been teching all my stuff to try and get as much as possible ready for field time.

For me Sat will probably be "walk-on camo" aka jeans and a hoodie with StrongBad on it. Sunday is kilt and hawaiian day!

Hows the lighting in the caves?

Should I put a clear lens in a mask for this event, or will a yellow tinted mask be okay in there?

Clear or yellow should be ok. But I would bring both.

I doubt I will make it this year.... again damn it!

How is the setup? Do they have lockers or do you hike out to your cars for different guns when you want/need? (How far us that hike?)

Do you need to pre-register or are walk ons welcone? Which team do you request to be on the MCB side?

Still have never been to Jaegers. What does a noib need to know? What guns and loaders?

It would be all mech or pump for me. No electros running right now.

Lets see if I can answer all these:

-There are small lockers for personal kit if you want one (bring a lock, they are free). Carts available to drag in enough markers to satiafy even MCB, and tables to lay them out. I just drag in everything, and leave everything bagged on table when not in use.

-For the event, and any day, walk ons are the standard. There is a waiver to fill out (big table up front) otherwise pay and play. FPO

-Normal days the main cave field is "no batteries", with private parties and open play in the back. Event day, most of the fields are combined into a nearly 2 acre underground open play course.

Normally there is also outdoor play on top of the cave, which you need to drive too (on top of a high bluff). For Caveball looks to be rain so I'd guess cave only.

Ment to post this earlier but have to make a smart financial decision and not make the trip. Till i can get some better income i cant be going on big trips now. Besides id rather had more of my gear sorted before i head out to another scenario event.

Was looking forward to seeing you again. I get it. We are still close enough to hit other stuff local.

Made the wise decision and did not go to Jaegers. About the only thing I got done was to buy an old Farmhand loader for my old Farmall. Coming back, I70 was white with hale just west of Topeka. Then less than half a mile of visibility nearer Manhattan due to snow mid-afternoon.

On to important things... How was Caveball? Which MCBersmade the event? Did you all survive the caves and the after event in fine shape?

I figured one of the others would have this posted up, but I got the group photo too.

I personally had a blast at caveball. The caves and up stairs were pretty fun and kept us guessing. My only complaint would be the fact that it was just larger scale open play, which ended up being a lot of fun, but I kind or expected a big game with objectives when I first signed up for it. But at the end of the day, the open play aspect gave me a repeated adrenaline rush with every game start countdown.

The MCB local crew was more than hospital to us ( my crew of guys) We felt welcome by you guys from jump. You were all great company.
