Finally home and unpacked. Was cool slinging paint with Chuck E Ducky (and wife) & NONOBLITUS (and son). I’d say bummer that it was only for a couple of minutes of action, but honestly, that’s all I saw anyone I was there with for during the game. Ha.

Also, happy NONO was able to see me in my natural habitat, which is to say, standing there while a stranger runs up to tell me my detents were gone and my angel was just pouring balls out of the barrel.

Awesome weekend. Ashley and I had a Blast. She played hard and kept up no problem holding her own. She was ripping paint out of her new pink and purple Acid wash Emek. We successfully flanked the Germans on day two and that lil Purple Emek stacked some body’s. Im sore ass hell from two days of battle. Great weekend!

      Story time:
      Skirmish Paintball, IoN 2022.

So, I head out into the woods with some of The Collective and we stumble upon a girl on her hands and knees, in the midst of an asthma attack. Throwing up, or spitting up or something along those lines. She can’t breath. So, some of us form a human shield around her. We’re getting steamrolled by the German’s on either side. Our front lines have no idea what happening behind them. We’re yelling for a ref to get a -real- medic. Two of our friends are talking to the girl and her friend trying to assess the situation.
Finally a referee shows up and demands we give her space. We step out a bit, I take a stray ball the arm. I announce it and a fellow baller pulls me back into him to continue acting as a shield.
      The game continues.
Unaware players charge the referee to get their medic cards punched, not realizing we have an actual medical emergency on our hands.
Eventually, a real medic arrives and our friends are able to assist the girl to a nearby rock.
I take a deep breath and turn around to start fighting our enemies. No sooner do I raise my marker next to a teammate, do I hear, “BEAR!!”
I turn around to see a baby black bear, maybe 75 yards away. I think to myself, “how is this real life?” As I say to the stranger teammate, “there’s an f’n bear.”
      He asks, “what, really?”
      I point.
      There was a bear.

Well damn I was standing close by to see the last of the medic action but did see the Bear. That was an absolute first time for that one

I missed the medical situation as well (bravo for stepping in to help!), but I did see our little buddy. Got a good video on him as well. He was right at the Allied insertion point

I finally found my calling. Riot, Meatshield extraordinaire.
Yeah, when all this went down is as soon as you reach “hood” from allied insertion, by that weird cement pool looking thing.

We’ll just call you “Riot Shield” from now on

And WOW, apparently my observation skills have gone way down hill. I must have been 100ft from you when that all went down.

JeepDVLZ45 - No one really knew what was going on, it was chaos. The ref literally walked up like, “uhh, are you all dead?”
Guys kept running up to the ref trying to hand him medic cards not realized 2’ in front of them was a real medical emergency. Lol

Mostly just a shit show. Currently trying to find out the name of the head security guard, who is also, allegedly, a cop and verbally abused one of the girls on our site.

…one of the security guards also fell odd his quad and plowed it into a car Friday night.

Edit: I just realized, it was the same security guard you’re talking about. He was the real cop. He went to do a hard U-turn and gunner the quad going into the corner and and caught the edge of the ditch along the road. fell off and his quad ran into a car at our campsite. We just called him Paul Blart

Very clearly an accident, but a careless, unnecessary move.
