    Future of Scenario Paintball?

Hey ya'll, don't mind the "new" account, I've been around for ages before the website switchover.

But I haven't played in quite awhile. My favorite events were always the 24 hour scenarios that began Friday and ended Sunday.
I guess the last 2 i played were both at EMR in Scranton, PA.

With Viper just retired, is there a major company out there producing events? Or is it down to the individual field to hold events like D-Day?
I honestly can't imagine playing a game that large, 300-600 seems ideal to me.

So what is the future of scenario paintball?

Supergame and cpx are 2 companies that hold events in different locations. The are more of a big game format. Personally i like the supergame format more. I feel like the play time is a lot better for the money spent. There are some other 1 off events that are being run around the country though for sure.

It was an absolute blast last year. I wish i could go this year, but it's in the red zone of when our baby girl is due or i would be there.
Make sure you go to the cocker world booth.

Scenario Paintball is and will be the same as it’s always been. New people will step up to the plate if the need is there. The bigger the game the bigger the mess.

Use to play a lot at EMR Western Wars and Pumpers being my favorite. Use to like Castle games before the neutered them. They stopped letting you battle your way in by the ramps. Send you searching for keys that don’t exist so you shoot more of the up charged paint. But I haven’t been back in years and probably won’t go back. West Point in its prime was amazing! Lake Fredricks hill separated the men from boys. Went back and it wasn’t the same.

It took me a bit to realize I don’t overly like scenario paintball it’s my least favorite way of playing. I do a select events a year like ION @ Skermish and Hoth @ APE. But mainly play those because of friends that I only see at those events.

You want to play a good scenario take a trip to OSG for one of there big games. They run some of the best events in the North East. AG is doing big things this year Eric was talking about running a big game as well. I would keep an eye out for those. He’s been doing a ton of work there it’s looking great! Capital Combat dose a big yearly mag fed thing.

Fluda Gap and Wayne’s world are good events worth checking out. I want to do a trip out to Vintage for one there events.

There are lots of big games.

Scenarios, with a plot, special roles, character cards... Not so much.

Here in the midwest we have a few game creators who try their best to make this happen. Ultimately it's up to the reff team that they build. If you just have guys who look out for player safety, you won't have anything fun happen like this. The biggest reason it's not happening is because most of the player don't care about it.

I think the guys who are hardcore scenario players have gravitated into airsoft in recent years.

You have class based rules and regulations, you have realistic gear, you have magfed everything, its much easier to pool together a real scenario out of airsoft than it is paintball. I personally feel scenario has died off as a result of airsoft gaining so much prowess.

          O man, it's nuts.

Off the top of my head

Myself, Super Nova superman Lt. head-shot are all going. If I remember right Head-shot has camping spots across the road from us.

If you need somewhere to camp I'll most likely have extra space. I need to write up a thread for it so we can coordinate everyone who is going and for first timers like yourself what to expect

I wrote on your Oregon SuperGame thread, but I’ll post here as well. I’ll be there with my son and at least one more person. Trying to put a crew together. Im local (~30 min away) so I prolly won’t camp.

Sherwood Forest has some great scenarios coming this year. Anything by Red Feather Paintball is great, Robin Hood, Evil Dead, Mad Max, Jedi Bloodlines, the other Hoth, The Purge. Guru Games is a new producer that's also running role playing paintball scenarios with really cool RFID, AR, and Bluetooth tech. Can't wait for their game in October. And don't let the name fool you, Old School Scenarios is just big games with more complex missions.

It seems to be either big game party ball or loosely themed MFOGs around me, but thankfully most Midwest and NY fields are withing 5 hours of me.

Just came back to the sport and I'd say to me it seems scenario paintball is more popular now than when I left (maybe due to the interest in mech only and FS events). Supergame is also coming to Orlando FL in 2024.....
