    Michigan Monster Game 2024 (MMG2024) - July 25-28h (thu-sun) 2024

2024, I cut and pasted in the title from last year, and can't change it.

New owners, but still BYOP including firststrike (smoke must be purchased there)

7/25 - Thursday - "Shields" - 5-8pm, registration opens at 3pm (Shields allowed, doesn't say anything about magfed only)
    7/26 - Friday - "Armageddon" - 5-8pm, registration opens at 3pm
7/27 - Saturday - 9am-5pm game, break for lunch from 1-2pm, registration opens at 7am. Hour earlier then past years, but forced 1hour break.
    7/28 - Sunday - 9am-2pm, then 3-3:30pm final battle, 7am opening.

They added an hour of play on Sunday, and put in a forced lunch break on Saturday.

Renegades in some form or another will be there for at least the weekend.

Thank the lord for the end of magfed only days.

The “shields” thing is certainly interesting. Presumably one needs Facebook to learn WTF they are talking about. I see no details on the webpage.

A four day event with “after work” scheduling on the weekdays is pretty cool.

I’ll be there at least one day, hopefully two.

We will be there all 4 days again this year. Looking like we will be about 20 deep. Last year shields was fun. It was basically attacking and defending the castle but with shields. Rules for shields was no clear shields or windows/barrel holes. They were not really any size requirements either. Had a good time playing it. Click image for larger version

        Man…I don’t have a single gun I can shoot one-handed. That’s pretty cool though.

I just noticed that in preregistration, if you want to buy paint, you can only choose GI or Fireball, no Valken or anyone else. It may have been that way last year since I didn’t prereg but it’s new to me.

Graffit is $60 from Amazon so no big deal, but I appreciated the variety.

They have new owners so that might be why less variety this year, but I'm not sure.

I've got so much paint left over from other tournaments and big games, I don't think I'll even need to buy paint. Even with the crew we are bringing, it'll be more than enough paint. I hope we burn through all of it. LOL

Looks like this will be the last Monster Game. Going to try and go up for at least Saturday. I don't think I can afford to get hotel rooms for a weekend.

Looks like they're going to replace it with a new game, it will be interesting to see if it's a new format or just a rebranding.

So far I'm not a fan of the 4 day format, the last two times we've had to kick squatters out of the campsite we paid for since we can't make it until Friday. This wasn't a problem when it was a 3 day format.

I wouldn’t be super surprised if they turned some more of the field into camping stuff. If they do that then “Monster” would maybe need to be redefined since the field will have shrunk.

The new owners have owned the “Terrorfied Forest” attraction in Pinckney for years. I believe they are moving it to Hell Survivors property which would shrink the field a bit.

I just noticed something…when you’re offered field paint on registration they refer to it as “Death Ball” rather than the usual Fireball.

I wonder if the fill has changed color? Or maybe this is just something to help establish a change in ownership.

Or just something with requirements/restrictions on the new ownership. Or the new owners have "Terrified Forest", and may just be theming to their business (as you said). Couple news articles behind paywalls when searching.
