What I posted on FB for those who don't have it:
Just got back from Fulda Gap last night, and still decompressing a bit. I wanted to start off with saying thank you to everyone involved with production. Eric Engler, Paul W. Floyd III, and Richard Jr L---thank you again for the opportunity and I hope that I did you all proud. It's been a whole lot of work the last couple of years, but it seemed like it paid off in a really strong game for the players. While obviously I wanted to win, I take the responsibility of being part of over 1000 people's weekend seriously---and I hope that I helped make it good one for them.
For all of those on NATO, thank each and every one of you for coming out, fighting your butts off, and never giving up. You guys played hard all weekend long, and showed a huge amount of heart throughout. I hope that all of you had an amazing time, and really hope to see you all again.
For everyone on WARSAW, I couldn't be more proud of what you all did on the field. I can lay out any game plan I want and it just doesn't matter if you all don't execute it---and good lord did you all execute it. Took OP Alpha, I believe Apache, and Rex in 8 minutes, Fulda in 40, and the whole field except Sim in an hour and fifteen minutes. You all were absolute animals out there. I would happily play with any and all of you again anytime. There are WAY too many teams to call out individually here and the hardest part of the weekend was awards for me----because it's damn hard to stand out when all of you just crush it. When we asked you guys to take an inch, you took a mile. Incredible job. BTW, final score was 5800-2400 for those who wondered (got a lot of those pings since yesterday)
To my Core Unit Commanders----all of you made that paragraph above happen. You guys are responsible for the absolute carnage you were able to enact out there, and couldn't have done a better job. Joey Cassidy, Shaun Capps, John Stepp, Gregory Melekian McCourt, Jason Smith, Harry Hibler, Lenny Stephenson, Chris Nienow, Jacob Jones, Kenny Ricker, Flip Wilson, Chris Powers, Djuan Mitchell (don't think you weren't felt out there), Ray Bobbitt, Jason Mann, Greendog, and Wade Hansbury----you all did a great job of getting the plan, keeping players on-task, leading the way, and making sure that players were on the field ready to go. You all were GREAT at what you do.
To my Armor and A/T----good god are you all incredible. When we needed you to take something out or lead an attack, it just happened. You guys put in serious work and just wrecked out there the entire time. Great job Michael Kline II on running Clifford out there for the first time, Larry Rivenbark and the Rivenbarks on just leaving a trail of destruction (esp day 2), at FSP and Skreech for spearheading attacks, keeping our guys on the hill protected, and helping shut down tank paths, Rex for pushing hard all day, and Brendan Pierce and Goblin for being everywhere. Nehemiah Maness and Ross Wishnia---you guys took out anything that had the unfortunate idea to roll anywhere in your general vacinity, and I love you guys for it.
For my guys in the command tent with me--- Ivan Pabon, Micah Chelf, and Chris Molles --- you guys worked your asses off and made it look easy, and we couldn't have done this without you guys. I think the absolute world of you all, you're the best at what you do, and know I was lucky to have you guys there. Anytime, anywhere, happy to do it again.
Damian Fowler, Wade Hansbury, Matthew David McKeel, Yeti Meyhem, Marc Spoof Schruefer, Gregory Melekian McCourt, Eddie Lott, Simon Stevens, Steve Solo, and Dezi Johnson----thanks for always being there off the field for me. I know doing Fulda stuff for like 9 months can make me kinda go nuts, but you all calm me down a ton and keep me sane.
So that puts a big bow on a lot of this year. I hope that every single person that came out and played had a great time, and to every player and team that came out and play for me --- THANK YOU!! You guys won this---I never sent a ball down range but you all sure did----I was happy to represent you on that stage. You all were amazing this weekend!
Can't spell WARSAW without a couple W's
