So excited for this game after last year's cancellation. Love that they got a new General for NATO. Who all is going, and has their side lined up already? My team is still on the fence about which side for this year.

I should be back in the Carolinas by then and I miss a good scenario game. I went to several of the Fulda Gap games when I was still residing in the Columbia area.

Visiting or are we loosing a Northern Stock class fixture for lots of years ???
-
Moving back south as soon as we can get the house closed. My company has informed me that I will no longer need to go into the office on a regular basis and can work anywhere I have good internet access (I'm currently a Field Performance Data Analyst). My granddaughter (and only daughter) are in SC and really missing her growing. Moving to New England was only motivated by job change not desire, I like it down south
I will be coming up for work occasionally so will see about timing it with some the stock events. Even thought about storing a paintball bag with a full pump/stock setup at my sister's up in Gilford NH so I don't have to travel with my gear just run and grab it when I can play.

I hear that on being close to family and for sure keep some gear up here or you know with our group you can always use whatever you want out of our gear. Good luck on the sale and move.

After missing the past 2 years, I am more amped than ever to make it this time! Not sure which side to choose though. I've definitely got a soft spot for Warsaw, but I remember wanting to fight more in the city area. Either way, should be fun!
And we need to do Operation Falkirk again.Rainmaker's feedback: https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/b...maker-feedback

Been a while since I've attended but when I was going it was a well run scenario with good refs. Usually a good turn out on a large field and if you want to go toe to toe with your opponent there are plenty of opportunities, if you want to be more stealthy there is plenty of room and if you want to do missions there are plenty of them. Biggest downer is if you end up getting eliminated on a mission on the far side of the gully, it is a long walk first down hill then back up hill to the staging area.

But the things I liked about the event were:
- Well organized. Safety, chrono, air-ups, getting paint, registration all went pretty quickly. For a 1000+ person game, I was never waiting in line for longer than about a minute or two.
- Field diversity and size. The area of play is gigantic, and has multiple different types of cover. The game play takes place all over the field too. So if you want, you don't have to be stuck in one area. There is definitely always fighting in the Sim City area though if you want to stay put.
- Good Refs. Here's where I don't have much experience with other big games, but Fulda seemed to have a good amount of refs, always calling things fairly.
- Fair players. I personally only met great folks at Fulda. No issues with dishonesty, or playing on. Also no issues with over-zealousness. Enthusiasm aplenty! But no fighting over hits or nonsense. Again this was my experience, YMMV.
- TANKS! And Anti-tank players! This adds such a cool element to the game.
Things I didn't like as much:
- Big field = lots of walking. I'm a reasonably fit guy, but being on the Warsaw side, I did a loooot of walking. Good exercise though
- Battle command is hit or miss. The battalion (or whatever it was called) that I was supposed to be in, no one saw that commander all day. I just ended up joining some other MCB folks that I found about an hour into the day. I've heard that some groups get really organized and pursue objectives and such, that would be fun.
Other things that are probably cool to some people, but I didn't care either way:
- Camping. The camping scene is HUGE and lots of people do it. If I had a group to camp with I would definitely do that. Looks like fun, but I haven't done it so far.
- Vendors. Lots of cool vendors, mucho opportunity to spend that dinero.Rainmaker's feedback: https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/b...maker-feedback

I miss attending scenarios in general and in particular where you have players working in cooperation on missions. This is one of the nice things about Fulda Gap is that no matter what type of play you enjoy there is a group of players and opportunities to match the way you want to play.
-
I will need to make plans for next year to attend. I have some family in Willmington so I think a road trip down will be in order.
