    Oklahoma D-Day 2021

This will be the thread to post that you are going, where you are coming from, ask about information, or network to figure out what unit you want to ball with. I myself will be going with the OSS or “Brad Pitts” and be using my Autococker!
Roll Call! Who’s going?....What are you gonna be running?

If I'm still in the OK area that time next year, I plan on going. It's an event I've been wanting to attend for a long time...

If and when it's rescheduled I'll be traveling with three. Two from Michigan and one from Nevada. Hoping this event is huge.

Lived in Oklahoma my whole life and been wanting to go for 25 years, might finally make it next year now that the kids are on their own the wife gets tired of my face and work is going well. Currently back to shooting a Phantom and trying to resurrect a Typhoon but by next year who knows, probably some kind of pump since even Mags tend to explode in my hands for some mysterious reason and I'm just not a heavy shooter anyway. Any advice for an old fat guy for attending?

Camelback full of water, then since you are rocking a phantom having that barrel bored to fit a freak XL......I wouldn’t want to be getting too close to 100s of peeps with semi autos having only a pump unless it were a CCM with an auto trigger and hitman handle.....maybe get some decent camo too like a viper hood or chimera so you can sit for a bit

Glad you brought that up. I gotta dig out the camelpack & make sure the bladder & hose are in good shape. Hasn't seen the light of day in years.

My 2020 registration is carrying over, or so they announced. Coming from Nashville. Only 2 other guys from my team, Huffin' & Puffin', planned on attending, not sure if they legit registered (I did early bird back in Feb). My kid suddenly had an urge to play this year. May need to sign her up, too.

We're a pump/limited paint group, so I'll probably main an S6.5, maybe bust out an Emek or Automag. Kid shoots her own Emek. The other guys have a greater assortment of pumps & mechs than us, who knows what they'll bring.

At the time I signed up, I opted for the side with fewer registered players. I don't remember which side that was.

Id recommend just bringing all your markers incase stuff busts on you or your buddies. You’ll probably enjoy playing with something semi-auto more anyways for this kinda thing

I've been 4 times. 2007, 2008, 2013 and 2019. 07 & 08 were the heydays, 4000 players and non stop action. 2013 was just under half that and last year was about 800-900 people. It was like watching one of your heroes get ALS or something. I am hoping that the fact this will be the last DDay ever will bring back some...no, lots of the old timers and all of the fence sitters too. A lot of it is down to the organization in the end.

Same, I went every year from 2008 to 2012. 2010 was the best one IMO, but you could already see the wheels coming off. Seeing D-Day these days is just painful, but at the same time they had a virtually unlimited resource of players who wanted to make the field and the game better and were wiling to put in the time to do it, and the owners just didn't give a fuck.

Yeah what's up with that I've never been up on D-Day other than knowing it exists, I figure the general contraction of the sport the past decade or so has had its effect and that's a whole nother can of worms but I didn't even realize this/next year was slated to be the last one until I went to the website after seeing this post

Take this from another old fat guy who's played it as late as 2019...hydration is your friend. Another great friend is muscle relaxants, Advil at a minimum.I know you are from Oklahoma so you know the humidity, but what I've done is start to really hydrate a couple of days before the game because the humidity will take it right back out of you. The day before I will be alternating a water then a Gator-aid all day long. You'll be pissing like a race horse but will appreciate it when you are playing. Camelbacks are a must when you're playing, and there is plenty of potable water buffaloes around to fill up during play. You can play pump, you'll be in the minority but you won't be the only one for sure. Look at it this way, you could carry a pod pack with 1000+ rounds, your camelback with 1.5-2L or water, a semi-auto with air tank adding 10 pounds to yourself or run nice and light with a stock class setup and just the camelback.

Cool cool I'm good on the Camelbak. Think I'll be taking the middle ground on paint/air/gun and going magfed, been resisting it for years and generally trying to get away from the milsim thing but Ghostflanker's MFG mod is pulling me in due to being in general a frugal paint user and always having hated hoppers. Trying to figure out a good belt rig as chest rigs just look stupid on a 300lb guy plus don't do anything good for heat management

On the subject of hydration. I recommend pedialyte powder packets or half cutting pedialytes with water walmart/dollar general brands are just as good, drip drop packets, or any Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets are great as well. Potassium and Magnesium pills are ideal for water retention if you like to avoid salt or sugary drinks, you can get those in any Multivitamin/supplement section at a walmart/CVS/Walgreens....a good affordable brand is NatureMade. Foods like bell peppers, oranges, and bananas are high in potassium as well. If you are okay with salt then “liquidIV” packets and small bags of pretzels in a pocket/pouch/pack are money makers. Amazon, CVS, or Walgreens are the best sources for all of these products. Baby food/little kid apple sauce packets with the twist tops are great for clean/mellow on the go nutrition anything with predominate vegetable
ingredients taste bad but work the best. Then if you are a cramper like me....pickles.....yes, pickles.....there are pickle shots, “Oh Snap!” Pickle bites, or just being weird and pouring pickle juice vinegar from a $1 jar from the dollar tree in a small disposable water bottle will help from what I have found after doing 20k+ movements under a lot of weight. Pickles are a great way to instantly curb a cramp to buy you some time to get liquids back in your body while on the move. The pickle shots will last in the heat no problem, I wouldn’t recommend going more than a day of the cheap $1-dollartree method in a water bottle without replacing it. These are all hydration/cramp-killer methods that I have personally used and was enlightened to by Ultra-Marathon runners, Pro-Athlete-advising nutritionists, and some BA Gun-Fighters.

My buddies and I played back in 2007-2010 and again in 2019. It’s hard to compete with the 4000+ player glory days, but even with only 1200(+/-) players in 2019 it was still a blast! Realistically the biggest local game I can get is 500 players, so 1200 is still an incredible opportunity.

Myself and 3-4 buddies will be back with the Allies in 2021 to send D-day off with a bang!

I had no idea the next D-Day event will be the last. I’ve never been and have always wanted to go. I won’t be missing this one.

I'm trying to get some friends excited for this trip. And one of them is recently sober.

Id like to drag my camper out there if possible, and bring a friend with to camp during the weekend.

Can I get some camping suggestions for campsites I can can put my small 20' camper on? Preferably quietish ones. I've never been to d day specifically, but typically camping at the events includes close quarters camping, and random people coming and going to chat.

How is camping at D day? Any state parks with semi private electric sites I could reserve early?

I see there are a few state parks near, but I cant for the life of me find contact information for twin bridges which seems to be a great park and good location. Anyone know how to lock down a reservation for them?
