Im torn. I would go, and was just telling my wife im going. She quickly reminded me of my work's covid protocol. If I go I'd have to take minimum 3 days unpaid til my test results came back. And or 2 weeks if my results were positive.

They would pay me to sit for 2 weeks if I caught it following protocol, but traveling for your own trips nullifues the covid pay benefits. So its not worth the consequences and that sucks for me as jeagers is a bucket list field for me.

That's a steaming pile of garbage right there. If my HR department pulled something like that on me I would feel like I was morally obligated to lie to them. In the event that you catch covid and bring it back just claim you followed protocol the whole time and caught it randomly. If they still fire you sue. They have absolutely zero right to know what you are doing or where you are during personal time.

I know its bs, but I figure my luck, is Id get caught from contact tracing and tracking or something. When I weigh the risk vs reward it it a hard sell to go.

Is contact tracing even a real thing? I have multiple friends and relatives who have gotten covid and none of them have mentioned any kind of contact tracing or even an attempt to track the spread. I distinctly remember the CDC actually told one of my co-workers back in march 2020 to not even bother getting tested when he started showing symptoms since "You are low risk and can work from home. Just do that for two weeks. We are short on test and you meet too many people in your day to day life for it to be worth the effort of tracking". If you have a company phone/check work emails on your phone I could see them nailing you that way though.

I hear you on the risk vs reward though. It's a tough job market out there right now so definitely try to hold onto a good job if you can. Sucks they are being so ridiculous about everything though.

Hmmmm, not sure... If you are worried about concentration of people in the caves, they do run the fields up top too. As long as the weather is good, I plan on playing everywhere I can again. It's definitely something not to be missed.

They had the outside open last weekend despite it being cold as hell so I'm confident the outside will be open for the Bob White game unless there is some pretty extreme weather.

Just an update from a local; KC lifted some of their COVID-19 restrictions and Caveball is definitely a go. Heading to Jaeger's next weekend to brush off the cobwebs if anyone's around.

Restrictions are lifted on occupancy according to jaegers, 6 feet and a mask are all you need!

I'll be there on the 6th for sure, but probably not before. I will be easy to spot as I'll be wearing classic MCB attire of hawaiian and kilt.

Ok, I will be the Grinch. How are the COVID numbers in/around KC? I get my first shot tomorrow morning... I suppose I can ask if I can go to this... or have to avoid it like the, uhm, plague.

Jaegers is also on my bucket list. I don't have as much of an excuse... I only live a couple hours west of KC.

Well the numbers are down enough that all local counties/cities have lifted restaurant restrictions on operating time and removed max group gathering sizes (as long as social distancing is maintained).

Heads up, I was there this last weekend and the paint (Defy) was FRAGILE. I saw it breaking in pods, caddies, hoppers, etc fragile. Definitely bring a something soft on paint if that's an option.
