    Troubleshooting help...

    Minimag valve, classic rail.

Of course I had to take everything apart before playing with my new mag, because that's my personality. Took it to the field tonight to test and play, aired up fine, pull the trigger and...nothing. Safety was off. Trigger was moving something(?), but no love.

Things I should look for? Should I take it apart and put it back together again just to check that I did it right? Full rebuild? This is the rail I got from punkncat that has some sort of cerakote on it, but it shot fine for them, so I'm likely the idiot.

So the sear was poking into the trigger and providing some push back when you tried to fire?

Yeah, there was definitely resistance on the trigger. Could it be that the trigger pin isn't out far enough? There is definitely more a very visible gap (1/8in?) between the pin and the trigger when aired up.

Try checking to see that you rebuild the on/off properly. https://youtu.be/6eKZJ9YYp4I?t=508

So I didn't tear it down that far, just pulled the reg off of the valve assembly to inspect the reg seat (it was good). If what Jordan suggests doesn't work, I'll do a full rebuild.

    Turn the velocity up.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Okay, I'll check this out next time I have air. This has a "dial-a-welt" on it, should it be really easy to turn/loose, or should it have some resistance (like a modern hpr adjustment)?

Tough to turn once you hit the spring pack. A Mag is essentially a regulator with a bolt in front of the output... without enough pressure to overcome the bolt spring, nothing will happen. You'll have some trigger response but the gun won't fire.

      Gotcha. Thanks.

Velocity adjuster was the issue. Cycling fine now, thanks everyone!

Alright, need some help again. Got it shooting pretty good, but I ran into two issues today while playing:

      1) Shootdown. First shot will be a solid 275fps, next shot is 235fps, but if I wait it'll be 275fps next.

      2) Small occasional leak down barrel. Happens especially after multiple shots, then will either fade out or go away after the next shot.

Not sure where the issue is. I might switch the shocktech reg back to the matching back, as well as rebuild, well, everything. Open to suggestions though.

How was the paint? Like a football?
        Which barrel did you used

Paint was pretty good quality, didn't have issues with it in anything else.

Barrel was a 0.689 carbon fiber. Again, no issues with that barrel on other markers.

      Have you found the issue?

If the ball where consistent, its in the regulator part of the valve.
Make sure the regularor parts (piston and reg seat) are clean and well oiled. If the reg seat is too old might need to ne replaced.
dont know if AGD have restocl their rebuild kit but it xould be a good option.
Be aware that non AGD oring kit are usually not urethane oring and I always have issue if the 010 power tube oring is buna amd now I only use urethane for this one (different if its a level 10)
power tube oring need to be change if it leak down the barrel and stop leak when you hold the trigger

I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot lately. I do have a un-opened, new-looking AGD rebuild kit. I also think I'm going to swap back to the matching back, just to push it closer to stock and rule that out.

Replaced the back with the original matching back, along with a full rebuild. Leak has gone away, haven't been able to test veloctiy. However, this was the valve/back alignment required to get the field strip screw in:

I now believe the cerakot or whatever is messing with the z-pin alignment.

If they don't match up exactly it should be ok, in my experience.

Having to "misalign" the laser engraving by a couple of mm to get the field strip screw in is perfectly normal for classic valves and completely harmless, though annoying.

Thanks guys. I guess the "Gospel of Tom" had me believe everything was precise all the time.
