Minimag rebuild - possible pressure issues?

So, I bought a level 7 Minimag off of eBay a while back and have gotten around to fixing it up. I have it mostly working but it seems like it's having trouble getting enough pressure to cycle properly. So far I've replaced all of the o-rings and put in a new reg piston. No leaks as far as I can tell and my HPA tank is putting out about 825psi according to the gauge.

My issue is that the marker only starts to cycle when the velocity adjuster is nearly bottomed out, an even then, it sounds like more of a burp where the bolt doesn't go all the way forward. As far as I can tell, it seems like either the spring stack is shot or the velocity adjuster is drilled out a bit too deep.

Has anyone else ever run into similar issues or have any other ideas?

It sounds like your spring pack is worn out. you can try and add a spacer in behind the spring pack and the adjuster to add more threads of adjustment if that makes since.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll probably do some scouring and see if I can buy a new/used spare since I'd like to have this thing running as long as possible. I may throw some spacers in there just to get things up and running in the meantime.

What kind of elbows are you using on your air line? I picked up some street elbows that were cutting off air flow pretty badly, and it took me forever to figure out the culprit.

Just the same old steel 90* elbows that I've been using since the early 2000's. After seeing some pictures of other packs online, I'm pretty sure Superman is right, the spring pack is shot. My current one has about 1/8 of an inch of play at the bottom of the central rod. The others look like they're almost flush against the lip at the bottom that keep everything together.

Is the spring pack in with the right side down?

Yup, only one way it can go in. The pack is the style with the large washer on the bottom.

Does anyone know a source for new spring packs?
