Do I’ve been tinkering around with my X-Valve mag and all of my HPA tanks are completely empty. I know that you shouldn’t run an X-Valve on CO2, but would it at least be safe to pressure test it on a 12 gram? The last thing I want to do is create a new problem after tuning it.

As I understand it the issue is CO2 and and the seals more then anything else. If that is true I would not use CO2 cartridges because they are more likely to dump in liquid CO2 and in addition most CO2 cartridges are pretty dirty with oil and debris.

It all depends on your 12 grams. If they are food grade(special forces, red rock, Leland) I wouldn't see it as a problem if you're not rapid firing and you are feeding through an asa with an airline and not straight in the side of the valve. If they are crappy Walmart 12ies don't bother as mentioned they are dirty and oily.
