What are the blue bumpers made out of?

Does anyone know the material specs on the blue bolt bumpers on the classic valves?

AGD seems to indicate the are polyurethane - anyone have an idea of the durometer? Feels close to 90A

I'm thinking of cannibalizing one to make a reg-seat for a different marker. It's hard to find super smooth polyurethane, and the blue bumpers from an automag look perfect. but curious as to the durometer of these

I don't off hand, but I agree with you about somewhere around 90A. Those blue bumpers are extremely durable, and I could see it working good for your purpose.

Thank you for the replies, and I agree, the blue bumpers "feel" right and they sure as crap are durable
I've been rebuilding the HPR and LPR's on a few ego 8's and 9's - Going to give the blue bumpers a shot as material in one or two of them.

It's been really hard to find 90A urethane with a really smooth finish, hoping these work well

Trying to get hold of anything that isn't metric in Sweden is a pain - usually a time consuming and horribly expensive pain. I do however have a sizeable collection of bumpers. Nice to know if I can source them for what I might need in the future.

Yes, and it has worked well for years. The first one I made with a pair of Swiss army knife scissors at the field (ego 5/6 reg I think). Later, I used a sharpened brass tube to cut a better one, just to trust it a little more. I honestly can't remember if I put any glue on it.

I like those bumpers for lots of stuff. I bet you could cut a 12 gram changer seal from one.

Awesome! - I've been using a set of hollow punches to cut reg seats - mcguyvering a seat with scissors sounds hilarious, and awesome

I know we are in the automags section, but a 4.5mm punch is the perfect size for an ego 8 HPR reg piston seat should anyone need that info.
