Hey guys dusted off a few eBay Automags the other day. 1st mag has a ule body with a inception autococker barrel with 8” freak sleeves, and the other a power feed with a dual detent RT barrel. On the ule I put a .079 sleeve in, a bit loose, balls would roll through. Man I was disappointed, I broke a lot of paint, I think the balls were breaking goin from the chamber to the smaller barrel, not getting chopped. then I used the power feed with the RT barrel and not one break in a thousand rounds. By the way neither gun has a level 10 bolt. What’s your guy’s experience with cocker barrels? Best to over bore I’m thinking? And what other barrels use dual detents other than the and RT barrels? I was planning on writing off twist locks and getting a bunch of Docs cocker barrels adaptors, but now I’m thinking differently. Cheers

What kind of hopper are you running on the Mags? Do you have a force feed hopper on the center feed Mag? If so, that may very well be the culprit.
With the miniscule paint nowadays, the second ball in the stack gets hit when the bolt pushes the ball about to be fired into the barrel. Even with lvl-10 bolts this is an issue.
I have seen that particular issue in a whole lot of different paintball markers, where force feed hoppers severly aggravated the issue, but non force feed hoppers worked out just fine. So if you had a non force feed hopper on your twist lock Mag, that may be why it didn't break any paint.
Personally, I get great results out of the plethora of twist lock barrels I use for my Mags, as long as I don't use any force feed hoppers. My personal favorite that I use on a chonky all metal Automag is a Dye Ultralite - to save weight...
Oh, and the old saying is still valid - "If you break more than one ball per box, there is something wrong with either the paint, the barrel or your gun." Although one could argue that the tiny paint is what's wrong in the equation. Still, even an Automag with lvl-7 bolt shouldn't break paint more than that with decent paint. -
On the center feed I used a new jt revolution and on the power feed I used my original 30 year old 9 volt view loader revy. I’d still like to know what other brands of barrels use dual detents. I like the idea of using 2 stock agd detents, I have the bearded works detents and they’re awesome too. But that RT barrel impressed me.Last edited by Tiger stripe; 06-17-2025, 09:37 AM.Comment

You only need one detent...One designed for smaller paint. https://beardedworks.com/products/bw-twistlock-detents
I designed these a few years ago and have had no issues using smaller paint. Including down to 0.675 using a rotor. They do need to be fit properly to the barrel.BeardedWorks.com (Your Inception Designs and Shocktech Dealer)
