So I bought a diggers centerfeed minimag build a few months ago with the plan of pump milling the body. Got around to it last night and a few hours later have a sweet center feed minimag pump build.

Very sweet. Original AGD pump?
One thing always disturbed me. That large hole for the rod to go through the body. I know it was standard for AGD, but is it necessary?
I milled one myself and only cut a slot wide enough for the rod.Comment

nah, its an agd clone it, but with a round guide rod instead of the oval shaped one, I have 2 agd pump kits on other builds.
Theroetically yes, but I've never seen anyone try just milling a ramp/slot for the pump arm. I'm of the mindset that "if it ain't broke don't fix it". even with that extra material removed it still works fine even for semi auto, used to run a pump milled ule body as a semi like that for years with no problems
