    Xmag breach options

I've been trying to find anyone who sells an xmag breach. Especially one that I can use with a modern style feedneck clamp. I'm not wanting to modify my original for the time being.

Then the bright idea fairy thought "what about a 3d scan and print?". I'll admit, the more I thought about the fact that the ball is in the barrel before the the air hits it should mean that the air pressure isn't too high in the breach, but it would be a wear item from the bolt.

So what say y'all? Viable experiment? Guaranteed death? Folly of youth?

I have one already designed in cad. It is on the list of things for me to machine. They will not be cheap though.

you are not going to want a 3d printed feedneck post for long term use.

It's the 2 year old that's really the brain and time drain :-D

Maybe that was just mine with their lack of self preservation instinct.

      That's awesome!

But now my brain is thinking that a cast based off a print might be a thing as well. Have you gotten an impression about how durable it might be?

another thought could be an annealed FDM print

take 100% infill print,, pack it in fine salt like your making a casting.. and bake it in the oven.. it creates a much stronger part than what FDM is capable of on its own because the whole part can get near glass temp evenly and cool down slowly..

the barrel is what holds it in place, so as long as its thick enough in the breech to handle that clamp force. ! don't see why it wouldn't work,,

Let Big Evil (Scott) put a clamping feedneck in your standard breech. He has done quite a few of them and they come out great.

They look better with the factory feedneck cut for empire spec. It doesn't show the shoulder of the inception feedneck post that way. Pretty sure that is how he is doing them now.

I was able to come across 2 more Centerfeed breeches and 1 Warp left. All raw. Not cheap.
