I am re-equipping myself to resume paintball after a 17 year hiatus. I am considering an Automag classic level 7 as my backup. The only thing holding me back is the availability of valve rebuilt kits. Given the age of the guns, I have to assume that even the ones that are sealed up and functional today will need a rebuild tomorrow. Seeing the handoff of the airgundesigns website happening very slowly has made me suspect on that availability going forwards. What are your thoughts on this?

Automag are quite easy to rebuild, appart from the reg spring pack and piston seal that are harder to find. Sourcing spare parts should not be too bad. Just buy an extra valve for spare parts, they are not too expensive.
You can check this post with oring size and schematic

You can order your oring here

Automag like urethane oring especially for the power tube oring. Once rebuild it will last year with only a few drops of oil each time you play.
Order a bunch or 010 urethane oring they are really usefull
Classic Valve (for Automag 68 and Mini-Mag; 1 rebuild)
4 Power Tube O-rings 010 urethane
4 Teflon O-rings 006
2 Barrel O-rings 018 standard buna 70 will work
2 Reg. Piston O-rings 012 urethane
1 Reg. Body O-ring 116 urethane💀Team Ragnastock💀 -
What i will say is that Dave Zupan was previously handling the sourcing of orings/parts before Sandman took over and did so after TK turned it over to him. They are going to be in good hands. Likely more of an issue of setting up the website type of stuff. sorting through inventory etc.BeardedWorks.com (Your Inception Designs and Shocktech Dealer)

older Automags can still be great shooters.
Ive got two that i've been slowly working on and playing with, trying my hardest to build a mag I love. a couple must haves in my opinion:- Lvl 10 is worth the upgrade. LVL 7 is better than the OG bolt but I've had the most consistent days with the 10
- Docs adaptor or supermans 3D printed detents a must have.
- they love Valken graffiti, and its a tossup as to whether it will be an absolute blender with anything else, so be patient and have a back-up
- overboring works best.

Well, I just purchased a pair of minimags. I'm hoping to get one working out of the pair. I have read that Fox's Paintball store in Yorkville, IL is capable of overhauls. I have a buddy that lives in Lockport, so I could visit him and take them in. I will also start to make up an order from the pinned posting's listed oring company. Leap of faith....completed.Comment

Hells Survivors paintball has a pro shop. I think its called Exotic Sportz. They had a bunch of full rebuild kits for sale a few years back. I think they were called AGD Medic or something like that.
I had a problem where my mag would have an occasional hot shot but otherwise ran fine. The kit set me straight. You might be able to call and order one, but Tuna above is always a good bet too.Comment

Well, the first two arrived, and it began about as I expected it to. Either brown and hardened orings, or buna orings everywhere. Both reg seats look old and busted. The one with the ASA has a rusted in front grip screw to boot. All parts are zip lock bagged and marked, and I have the stainless parts ultrasonic cleaning in simple green. Just PB Blastered the living shit out of that screw. I could have just purchased a NIB marker, but my insanity wouldn't allow it. I can't wait to see what the pair from Ebay look like. Going for a long run in the sun while the PB Blaster does it's work....hopefully.You do not have permission to view this gallery.

One was listed as having low velocity. When I got it, I wondered why it had tool marks on the ANS velocity adjuster. Turns out, the thing had been turned in hard enough to start to de-swage the center pin that holds the end washer on. I already wet sanded the tool marks off the adjuster. Hopefully that expunges the evil spirits of past mis deeds. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Does anyone know if the screw that holds the foregrip or vert asa is locktited in place by the factory? Seems like both of mine are on the rail super hard. Soaking in penetrating oil overnight, but I will torch it if needed. The anno on the foregrip is great, and the finish on the other rail is great. Hoping to put them together without marring the finish on the parts. You do not have permission to view this gallery.
