    Fixing a Seperated Barrel

Does anyone have experience fixing these? I purchased it like this and the previous owner said that Teflon tape was the way to fix it. That made no sense to me but maybe my beliefs are limited in the way of Teflon tape applications.

Teflon is meant to make things NOT stick it's basically thread lubricant so you can torque fittings further.

You'll want to use epoxy or something similar.

Best way to get them to align is on lathe centers

Yea, I figured he either misspoke or I've been using Teflon tape the wrong way my whole life. I don't have lathe centers, so I'll probably just see what happens with the Epoxy and buy another Doc's if I cant figure it out.

If you want to join them semi-permanently to see if you get it straight enough to shoot straight, you can try a few drops of super glue. It should hold it pretty well if the fit is close and if not, it should loosen with a heat gun and/or acetone.

Nice. If I were a betting man, I'd guess that the shear strength is decent but it'll lift apart easily.

Loctite will only harden when it’s in a sealed environment. It should work but there is a specific retaining type version of Loctite you can get that better.

Henkel/Loctite make specific slip fit retaining compounds just for this.
      I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

It's not the same thing, but I glue these dowel pins in with red loctite and it works great

For hobby nerf applications, people that sleeve 5/8" OD aluminum with 17/32" OD brass always use red loctite, so I figure it should work in this application too

I have wondered how this stuff might work for your situation...
#1 Highest rated adhesive for muzzle breaks and suppressors. Heat resistant up to 1,292°F. Easy to apply, easy to remove. Keeps assemblies from vibrating loose.

Solid as a rock! I dropped it, tapped it on a vise, twisted and pulled, it didn't budge. Click image for larger version

I suggest you put a piece of tape over the joint, let it sit for 24 hours

Will do, I'll get it set today. I'm playing a bunch of paintball this weekend so I'll report back Monday with the result and a shooting video.
