68 Automag macro line to steel conversion

I currently have macroline on my classic 68 Automag, but it’s leaking and I want to switch to steel braid. What length steel-braided hose and fitting size should I be looking for? πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

You can measure the length with a ruler and buy accordingly.

Thread size 1/8 npt. Post up what length you have and I should have the length you need in New old stock...

Those quick fittings can be rebuilt with just a single oring.

Are you going to continue to run that angled bottomline ASA and ANS Phase II expansion chamber?

If you're thinking about going to just a vertical foregrip and running a line direct from the ASA to the reg body on the marker, I would suggest getting a straight duckbill ASA that has the screw holes countersunk on both sides so it is reversible, then running steel braid from the left side of the ASA to the reg body, creating a half loop off the back. Takes about 10-12" of steel braid, plus two 90 degree elbows and a quick disconnect. Has the advantage of needing only one length of steel braid and only those two fittings, so fewer potential leak points. Then you can put whatever in the vertical ASA as a foregrip, or swap it out entirely for a dedicated foregrip. Could even make a foregrip with a valve off a dead CO2 bottle and a length of pex or PVC glued to the bottom threads and wrapped in whatever grip tape you like.

The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.
