PEBA is some weird shit. My research was correct. It does prefer to be printed in a per object setup. It is very stringy and blobby when moving between objects every layer. Its soft enough that retraction has very little effect. Some say to turn it off completely. I did two plates of 12 detents by object that turned out perfectly. Then I tried two lines of 5 detents by layer, which had issues.

The good news is that these detents are so short that I can do them by object and only need enough spacing for the nozzle width. Right now I'm trying 4 carbine bumpers by object.

This stuff is crazy to hold. If you hold a dozen of these detents, you constantly find one or 2 flying out of your hand when you arent paying attention due to the springiness and lower density than TPU. Its definitely has a weird feel to it.

Bumpers turned out great. Tippmann Pro-Carbine detents turned out great. PEBA prints great as long as you do in by object. I did find out something interesting about these materials. I put a brand new TPU detent into the ProCarbine 5 days ago. The bolt has been closed over it since then. When I took it out to install the new PEBA one, the 5 day old TPU had been squashed down considerably.

This effect also happened with the originals. I am going to pull the PEBA detent out of it in 5 days to see if it has retained it's original shape. I don't think this is an issue with Mag detents, as nothing is ever at rest over the bolt. However, maintaining shape is important to any detent, so it will be good to know how the new material compares.
