Rebuilding mags… what lube? Do these work?

Rebuilding two classics and two RT valves. I no longer have any old autolube sitting around. Maybe it’s somewhere… I can’t find it.

I do have “Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil” that’s blue with the little precision tip applicator.

I also have some Wilson Combat “Ultima-Lube II Lite Oil”… seems like it would work. It’s red and thin. Don’t know - never used it. It came with a Wilson I bought but I just use the Lucas on everything.

I’ve also got some Mobil-1 full synthetic 5w-20 and 5w-30 in the garage.

also got a bunch that I figure wouldn’t work well - ballistoil, otters 3-in1, Hoppes, WD40.

Stick to silicone oils for paintguns. Petroleum based oils can cause o-rings to swell which is less than ideal. Motor oil is right out. Some of the gun oils you have could be ok if they're silicone based but I can't say for sure without knowing their specific makeups. Personally, I use the oil that Autococker Parts sells in all of my mechs, including my mag, and it works great.

That'd work alright but mags do preffer oil. A light coat should do it.

If you have air tools, paintball oil is full synthetic air tool oil. That's what you need for mags

They sell a 16oz bottle at Harbor Freight for 6 bucks. Its a litteral lifetime supply for one person in this hobby.

After more research… it looks like (non-petroleum) fully synthetic lubricant with silicon or PTFE was recommended for automags. Like gold cup, autolube, super lube, outlast, KC trouble free…

The MSDS on that Harbor Freight Merlin air tool oil is 99% Petroleum distallates. Seems like not the right stuff.

Mine does not carry it in store. Dont see any at Lowe’s, Walmart or and if the auto stores around here.

I just ordered some on Amazon that shows up tomorrow.

Looks like Super Lube also makes an “oring” specific synthetic silicone lube.

Lol. That's I've way to handle it

I need a new thing if grease and I've really lined hatersauce.

Compared to the $5 16oz bottle, the $30 4oz jar looks like I'm getting ripped off

You could always get gold cup and it will be all over the tool box in a few months. Stuff is so slick even the bottle can hold it down. (the bottle is shit btw)

                    I like Outlast personally.
