    X-Valve leaking from side

I recently purchased a new Xvalve and after getting it ready with an air fitting, it's leaking out of the left side.

I've tried adjusting the velocity, cleaning the orings, pulled the reg piston to inspect it, swapped reg pistons with another working Xvalve, and swapped the on/off.

Also tried swapping the reg seat Oring, no changes.

I’m stumped and would rather not have to send it back for replacement if it’s a simple Oring somewhere.

Leaking out the side is your reg pin orings. Specifically the 2 front ones on the reg pin.

What if I swapped with a brand new reg pin assembly and still have the same leak though?

I have had to go through a few orings on the reg pin to get it to seal right.

I always test the reg pin orings by fitting them on the other side of the pin before installing them on the pin. Snug is right. Let me know if you cant figure it out and I would be happy to fix it for you. Sometimes AGD assembles these without checking every oring for fit. Oring tolerances are not always that great.

I have a couple brand new assemblies. I tried one and the leak was unchanged. I guess try all of them and then replace orings accordingly?

you can either go over it or take it off and reinstall.

Swapped out three different assemblies, still the same leak. These are all brand new, so either the orings were bad from the start or something else is bad.

I certainly can’t help yah, I went through three different valves and rebuild kits before I swapped the X valves for a Classic and it shoots great now.

One was even brand new and all it did was piss air. I’m sure it’s something I’m missing but if I can’t figure it out meh I’m over it.

Clean the pocket thoroughly. I’ve had a fiber/fuzz/hair strand in there cause a leak before.

Look for scratches in the pocket. This is usually more of an issue in the on/off hole - careless use of a metal pick to remove orings - but maybe there’s a scratch causing the leak.

Try Buna orings. I haven’t had much luck with urethane lately.

                    Buna on the reg pin?

See any obvious scratches, it’s brand new, so I’m assuming it’s in good working order, but who knows.

Any other suggestions? Not sure what else it might be since I swapped 3 other brand new assemblies and still have the leak.

                          What's your tank output pressure?

                            800-850 PSI.

I’ve got four other XValves and two classics. This brand new XValve I just ordered is leaking like crazy.

                            Might be a dud.
