AN Fittings for high pressure applications.

Came across a NPT to 4AN swivel elbow along with 4AN sleeve fitting for hard line. With a swivel elbow it would make disconnecting and removing a valve easier than traditional hard line application when going straight from ASA to valve.

Anybody have experience using AN fittings for high pressure application?

The idea is to make a hard line version of this

The reasoning is to eliminate leaky macro fittings, while also upping the pressure if I ever want to really RT the puppy.

Funny after having some issues with macro line on my Stock Class sniper the other weekend I picked up a few a 45* 1/8th NPT to 4an a few 90* fittings and 6” braided break line. It’s rated to 3k psi and should stay sealed better. I’m tired of fiddling with the macro line stuffing the orings with Dow 55 and waiting for the co2 to expand the sealing orings. Even grabbed some shrink wrap I might put over it to color match it.

Even found some nice anodized fittings. Hopefully they look good I’m 100% positive it will seal better.

I don’t think it’s cheeper but I should never have to worry about dealing with leaking fittings when I swap between air sources. Although the CCM fittings I’m pulling off are pricey.

If you factor in tooling for shaping and flaring hard to AN fittings, then its cheaper

I think of you wrap it around with a hard line it’s likely to get banged around and the hard line won’t give like some good braided line. That’s why I went this route instead. Mainly went this route because I didn’t like the oversized big brass fittings. That normally go along with braided lines. Even got some 3/4” shrink wrap to jazz it all up with. Hopefully it’s set it and forget it like the rest of the marker.

Ran out of thredlock so Teflon for now. But I think I solved my leaky fitting issues. Pressure rated to 3k psi I think it can handle 12g. lol

10hr and still holding 12g pressure I will take it. While not a cheap solution it’s an effective one. The AN fittings are a lot nicer than the standard ones you see. I shrink wrapped the braided hose and it stiffened it up nicely so it seems like it will be very durable. But will require a wrench to take the hose off so it no longer toolless. But I doubt I will ever have leak issues with it.
