Bumpers, reg seats --- go with blue?

    Regulator seats -
Airgun designs sells these blue regulator seats, I assume they must be passable. Anyone have experience with them? I'd like to have some onhand and am not a fan of polyurethane stuff just hardening/disintegrating in bins if it can be avoided.

    Bumpers -
Same thing - blue seems good enough for use in X / RTP valves and I'd rather not keep two versions of a part especially if one is polyurethane. I've yet to see any real consequence of blue bumpers on valves. Anyone have actual experience with blue bumpers being an issue in normal use?

Color is irrelevant. Polyurethane can be molded in almost any color, and generally speaking, the color is not indicative of a certain type or style- it can be for a given manufacturer, but it's not an industrywide standard.

It'd be like asking which Corvette is faster, the red one or the blue one.

As long as the maker used good material, a blue reg seat can last as long as the old translucent ones.

      Both wrong. Black is faster

True. Nothing's faster than the speed of dark.

I suppose I'm assuming these blue reg seats (and the blue bumpers) are not the type of polyurethane that 1) disintegrates/melts in my parts kit or 2) dies after a year of use.

I dont care that it's blue, I just want parts that I can use 4 years later and not sweat it. Time flies!

That, unfortunately, can't easily be determined, unless the manufacturer specifies the material.

As somebody here noted a while back, there's an ester base, and an ether base polyurethane. Ester is the cheaper of the two, and more readily undergoes hydrolysis- absorbing moisture from the air to eventually depolymerize.

The secret to the reg seat lasting is do not unscrew the halves. Leave it together and they will last longer.
