There are some WAS manuals floating around out there for various markers, but all I have been able to find are manuals that contain information for the original semi-only code.
I have a WAS board that has adjustable ROF and PSP/NXL ramping modes, evidenced by that it's doing an old school PSP 3 round burst ramp @ 15 bps cap. While this did provide a pleasant hit of 2k5/2k6 nostalgia, it is not desirable in 2023.
By absolute coincidence, I actually have a physical copy of a WAS ramping manual for an Impulse board in my manual book. Using my Viking I was able to verify that the parameters are indeed the same as the Impulse WAS.
Pretty confidently, if you have any WAS Equalizer that has 7 parameters in programming mode, it probably has ROF & Fire mode control. I have a System X NME and it does not have the 7th parameter (Alternating Green/Orange) and cross referencing an NME manual, that gun did not ship with the ramping firmware update.
The Impulse manual lists the parameter order & blink code as the following:
***Stock Viking settings are referenced from what I saw on board after a reset & listings present in the non-ramp firmware manual.****
I'll try to get a scan of my paper manual. It was my experience that finding this information was quite challenging, and I hope that posting it to the forum helps people bring their WAS Equalizer boarded Vikings (and anything else) into spec with modern rate of fire restrictions & get them back out onto the field.

- Solid Red - Dwell
- 1 Blink = 1ms - Old Firmware
- 1 Blink = 1ms | Orange Flash | 1 Blink = .1ms (1/10th of a ms) - New Firmware
- Dwell has a special way to read & set it when using the new firmware since WAS added the ability to adjust tenths of a millisecond via trigger programming.
- Stock setting:
- Old Manual: 8ms
- Factory Reset:10ms
- Impulse Manual:7ms
- System X NME Manual:7ms
- Solid Green - Debounce
- 1 Blink =1ms
- Stock setting:
- Old Manual:10ms
- Factory Reset:10ms
- Impulse Manual:7ms
- System X NME Manual:7ms
- Solid Orange - Eye mode
- Viking only - Excalibur eye modes are different entirely
- 4 Modes, number of blinks tells which mode is active
- Options according to Old Manual:
- 1 Flash - Bypass
- 2 Flashes - 'Delayed'
- 3 Flashes - 'Forced'
- 4 Flashes - 'Simulate'
- 'Pretends' ball is in breech
- Max ROF mode intended for dry fire
- Options according to Impulse Manual (This appears to be correct to the Viking)
- 1 Flash - Bypass
- 2 Flashes - Eye mode 1 (uses ROF Cap)
- 3 Flashes - Eye mode 2 (monitors bolt)
- 4 Flashes - 'Simulate'
- 'Pretends' ball is in breech
- Max ROF mode intended for dry fire
- Stock Setting:
- Old Manual: 'Delayed' (2 Flashes)
- Factory Reset: 3 Flashes - 'Forced'/'Eye Mode 2" (Unlimited ROF)
- Flickering Red - Ball-In-Place (BIP) Delay
- 1 Blink = 1ms
- Stock Setting:
- Old Manual: Parameter non-existent
- Factory Reset: 3ms
- Impulse Manual:10ms
- Impulse uses a reflective eye instead of Viking's break-beam style
- System X NME Manual:
- Flickering Green - Rate of Fire (ROF) cap
- 1 Blink = 1 BPS
- No partial adjustment - 10.2 & 12.5 are not possible here.
- Stock Settings:
- Old Manual: Parameter non-existent
- Factory Reset: 15 BPS
- 1 Blink = 1 BPS
- Flickering Orange - Eye Power (Viking/NME) Eye Sensitivity (Impulse)
- This is a complete guess. This parameter does not exist in the original manual.
- Due to similarity in technology, I will assume that the Viking is using Eye POWER
- The Impulse manual lists this parameter as 'Eye Sensitivity'
- Impulse uses a reflective eye - like an E-Blade
- Blink once - Most Sensitive / Blink 10 times - Less Sensitive
- More Blinks makes the eyes Less sensitive
- Maximum setting for this parameter is not defined in Impulse Manual
- The System X NME lists this parameter as 'Eye Power'
- NME uses an LED break-beam eye system very similar to Viking
- Blink once - Least power / Blink 10 times - More power
- More Blinks makes the eyes More powerful
- Maximum setting for this parameter is not defined in System X NME Manual
- The Impulse manual lists this parameter as 'Eye Sensitivity'
- Stock Settings:
- Old Manual: Parameter non-existent
- Factory Reset: 10 Power
- Impulse Manual: 10 Sensitivity
- System X NME Manual:10 Power
- Alternating Green/Orange - Firing Mode
- 3 Modes, number of blinks tells which mode is active
- Ramp scheme is not adjustable - input sequence into the ramp is always the same.
- Ramps will obey ROF Cap parameter if Eye Mode 2 is selected (Verified on Viking)
- Options according to Old Manual: Parameter non-existent
- Options according to System X NME Manual: Parameter non-existent
- Options according to Impulse Manual
- 1 Flash - Semi auto ('NPPL Legal')
- 2 Flashes - 3 shot ramping (PSP)
- 15 BPS in eye mode 2
- These are the first ramping modes available legally in league play.
- For PSP, you had to shoot Semi 3 times, and then each pull of the trigger thereafter would be modified into a 3-round burst up to a capped ROF of 15 BPS. Breaking the burst requires the semi-lead in once more.
- 3 Flashes - 3 shot full auto (NXL)
- 15 BPS in eye mode 2
- These are the first ramping modes available legally in league play.
- For NXL, you had to shoot Semi 3 times, and then each pull of the trigger thereafter would be modified into full auto with a capped ROF of 15 BPS until the trigger was released for a full second.
