Now and again Brandon from Sci-Fi Paintball releases a batch of boards for various markers, including Viking/Excalibur.

The boards are a tad pricey, and they tend to sell out minutes after they have been released. Thusly they are somewhat tricky to get hold of, unless you are ready to fork out ridiculous prices to scalpers who inevitably strive to get hold of as many boards as possible each time they are released.

This last batch was one and done. He was very specific on that. The boards also have the BT chip but it is disabled in the firmware. They as you said do sell out in minutes though. The only really available option is the morlock.

Is that so? Well ain't that a bummer. I figured that even though it is far between, Brandon would still release new boards once in a blue moon.

My 2 cents:

Morlock - available, creator is among us in this forum, you’ll have to wire and program it (both dwell times, 2nd dwell timing, output voltages etc),

Enoch - sold out, poor eye logic/software if your AKA has eyes.

SciFi - sold out, great software, expensive.

WAS - inexpensive, can find them used in the Facebook group, great eye logic, can run PSP ramping if not playing in a strict tournament.

I run the WAS boards in my Vikings, very fast without any hiccups.

You can still rarely find either version of the Tadao once in a blue moon as well. Also a first class board.

Also, Tadao boards are awesome in Excaiburs, but make sure it is the white Tadao board. The black Tadao board has voltage issues when being used with dual solonoids. Pandora boards are also great, use one in my Bonebrake excal. The Pandora boards were made by Vaporworks, and he is still around. My Diamond mill excal will get the new morlock V4, so I can have a screen in my frame an rechargeable battery.

I've run WAS and Pandora boards in various vikings and excals before but I've been out of the loop for a while and didn't know what was still available.

There are no drop-in boards currently in production sadly.

If we can get a solid 20 board minimum, after we launch our Morlock Saber boards we can commission to have Viking/Excal Drop in boards made. My poor green Brick 04 Viking will gladly be the guinea pig  And I'm sure Curt will only mildly want to end me for piling on if the Saber sells well.

"Morlock Crusader" Prototype is underway (yes we named it.) Couple of interesting things, love to hear pros and cons:
-LiPo battery: With the KM2 Collab, LiPo's are kind of our thing, also who really wants to keep buying 9V batteries?
-OLED Screen: I know no one makes grips or even a location to mount... It's going to be optional but I think I'd enjoy it during tuning and troubleshooting at least.
-Potential charging extension: Since the stock Viking and Excal boards are in the tray, instead of having to disassemble to charge, we plan to extend the port for charging into the grip so just removing the grips give you access to the battery, the OLED if optioned and the charging port to charge the battery.
-Also going to open a pre-order deposit for them once the prototypes come in. Just $10 a spot. I think we are going to target $180 MSRP for base board, but it should get us a better idea of how many the first run should be.

This sounds rad. I like the charge option with port in the frame/grip area. I'd definitely be in for at least 1.

Would the boards be marker specific or one size fits all, i.e. a switch to select between Viking or Excal? Would there be a bluetooth option? If so, would it be IOS and Android compatible?

Android Bluetooth, and Wifi server setup pages will be available. And I believe it will just be a "Personality" selection between Vikings and Excals at the top of the setting page.
We'd do IOS but Apple really loves their $100 a year Dev Kit fee to have access to bluetooth in an app, and I wanna make sure that even if we move on to other ventures or whatever, these will still work with the .API we provide for Androids, and the Wifi Server for the Arduino portion. I really gotta get some videos of using these features, its really slick. And while we won't have buttons, I believe we will offer trigger-based programming also in conjunction with the OLED screen.

I don't suspect Vikings or Excals benefit as much from the LiPo financially, but working on the Saber I talked with people who were like "yeah my setup or board current eats a 9V every time i go and play the weekend." The math on that, with 9V's running 3 to 4 bucks a pop, you know... play 40 times and thats about the cost of our board and battery and everything.

Used prices are insane. Depending on what these will retail for and the quality-of-life features like mentioned above, I'd be in for a viking board.
