2k2 Viking Eye Detection/Bolt Depth Issue

Finally got my first AKA marker on Saturday. Picked up 2k2 Viking #40. Looks and runs great, except for one issue that's making it difficult to get speed. It seems like the eyes aren't detecting the ball very quickly or consistently, and when they do it seem like they're losing it occasionally as it rolls back and forth between the bolt face and the detent. Are there known good Enoch settings for the Viking? Is my bolt sitting too far back since its allowing the ball to roll and and forth?

Also, don't have the spanner to take it apart. Ordering one shortly.

I believe that is why they switched from the 2k2/2k3 detent to the 2k4 style quad detents.

Makes sense. Sounds like upgrading the detent wouldn't really be an option without destructive modding. Any way to adjust or shim the rammer so it sits slightly further forward?

You can pop a bigger bumper on behind the bolt to move it forward some, prevent that rollback.

The proprietary spanner isn’t needed to crack it open. You can do the same thing with three small Allen keys.

Absolutely true. I had to do something similar on my Angel, but I'm not worries about marking up my Viking

Is the paint super tiny? Is the wire nubbin damaged or even there, if it's allowing the paint to roll back and forth?

Apparently the Enoch boards have poor eye logic.. Check out the Excal Board thread here in the AKA section. It's about 7 threads below this one.

Paint was boring decently large. Nubbin is present and intact. I have a feeling the board is more the culprit. Someone else relayed firsthand experience with the Enoch being butts, and offered up a Pandora.

Was leaning more towards the Enoch being the issue. But want to rule out the easier items to adjust or replace.

Good to hear you got another board heading your way.

Someone in the Autocockers101 discord suggested to try ramping. I took it out for league night and it runs perfectly fine ramping although I did wind up with it not firing during a rundown once. Never figured out the problem.
It really seems like its just Semi that doesn't play nice. I do wonder if shot queuing is a problem. I should try True Semi and see if that makes a difference

Try it out, to see what works and doesn't.

Nope! Still want to order the tool to take it down so I done wind up marking it up with Allen keys jammed in there.

I've still been taking it out to play and it still runs like a dream on ramping but just really doesn't like semi, or feeding from anything but force feed. It's chopped the very last ball out of the hopper both times it's run dry so far.

That sucks man. Did you swap out the board? What hopper are you running?

Still running the Enoch. The guy that was gonna send me a Pandora couldn't find it.

Hoping the Conrad Customs drops sometime in the next few months.
    Working...
