Pre 2k vs 2k body for stock class build?

I remember hearing somewhere that pre 2k bodies are the better choice because they get better efficiency on 12grams, has anyone else had experience with this?

If you're willing to run a regulator, a 2k based build will get much better efficiency than a pre2k.

I think there were reports of up to 40 shots per 12 gram? The thread was lost when MCB was hacked, but the whole myth of "less volume=more shots" was pretty well debunked.
