Can’t tell if this noise is normal or not.

I’ve got a newer Shocktech SFL autococker and yesterday I noticed this metallic pinging/tinging kind of noise while I was shooting it.

It almost sounded like how a loose barrel does…anyway, I checked the barrel, made sure nothing on the front block was loose or anything like that. Nothing amiss there.

I just pulled the frame off to check and see if the jam nut was some how coming loose and didn’t see any threads when I pulled the hammer back.

Nothing obvious seems amiss. Is this something normal? Or was I imagining it? I’d rather not damage the thing beyond repair if something is funky, I’d also rather not have to tear it all apart and mess with timing etc because asides from this odd noise I just noticed, it’s shooting great.

Take the hammer spring out and bang it on something, see if it's similar

    Valve spring as well

Have you tried a different tank? I've heard regs on some tanks make a pinging sound when the marker is fired.
      I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

Yes! This happened to me a while ago as well. Try the same tank on a different marker

Yeah, forgot to mention I put the tank on a different marker to make sure it wasn’t the source. I just had a new reg put on and thought maybe it was bad.

So it’s not the reg. My fist thought would be a slow recharge sound. Check to make sure your grip frame screws are not reversed interfering with the springs in the lower tube.

I pulled the frame off the check some of the internals, nothing seemed out of place. The lengths were different, but I put them back in the same order.

Is the hammer lug set correctly, or is it annihilating your body?

Maybe try and post a video of what is happening. Hard to diagnose the noise without hearing it.

I assume its not the back-block slapping the body, correct?

I usually run a GoPro for gameplay. I’ll have to grab that footage or see if I can get something with clear audio.

No - and the gap seems kinda big (1mm) if I back it out, but maybe it’s fine.
