Hey hey. Been a while since I have been here. I was wondering if anyone can ID this one for me?

I can't help with the ID, but just a tip, there is someone selling all purple pneumatics in the misc. BST.

That is a real nice looking cocker!

Looks like a 94ish cocker with a wire detent and Carter-esque cuts. Could have been done up by Bad Boyz Toyz, Carter or a good garage guy.

Wire detent means its earlier and better than later guns with ball detent. Milling doesn't jump out as distinct to me, may or may not be an early example of one of the "big" shops. But the fact it has a wire detent and no side hole in lower tube is good.

Yup, I hate when they drill the lower tube

As others said this looks to be an early custom cocker and the serial number 23311 puts it pretty solid in the 1995 range. The cuts look clean and in keeping with the mid-90s aesthetic. Unless you find the individual who actually did the milling or owned it when it was done I doubt you'll find out more.

More I look at the pictures I pretty sure this is a "garage" customized marker. While the milling look pretty good the anodization looks splotchy and uneven so expect this is a home anodizing job.

The guy said it's a early EVO. Didn't look right to me though.

            Mystery continues.

Definitely not an evo. Not the right parts and nowhere near the right milling.

That's an early Bad Boyz Toyz gun. If we had still had easy access to Ravi's old website, you'd see he had a gloss black BBT cocker from the same era with very similar milling. Like a lot of shops in those days, they sold modifications in stages, so not every one looked identical, nor were they all equipped the same as they were built to order. But, the low angle sight rail, shark gills, wire detent, and most importantly, the feedneck vents are all signature early Danny Love. In fact, if that grip frame is original to the gun (and it looks like it is), if you take the grips off you might find the serial number scratched into the frame. That was a BBT move for a while, but I don't know if they did it on all guns they worked on.

Of course the front end is not original, and other internals might not be right, but the body and frame look very nice for their age. Sounds like you got a smoking deal on a nice vintage cocker from a reputable shop.

So what would be the original front end? Would like to resurrect it to as close original as I can.

There wasn't a set front end because Shocktech did not exist yet and Bad Boyz Toyz didn't make any pneumatics. Because it was all built to order in those days, you could have random setups as well. With that in mind, the options were VERY limited in 95. I would say the most common arrangement would be a rock reg, clippard ram, and a stock polished WGP 3 way. There were probably plenty out there with stock WGP rams as well. Typically, stock parts were internally polished in those days. Polishing out a clip and cup stock Bud 3 way was common and typically part of a trigger job. It was not uncommon to have this arrangement chrome or nickel plated as well.

I thought it looked like there was a vent cut into the feed neck but was not positive because of the darkness. That was a definite sign of a BBT customized marker by Danny Love. I would be nice to see higher detail pictures with the marker cleaned up and lit properly. The anodization looks smudge/faded which would point to not being BBT at least in that color as all of theirs were done well in my experience.

Wire detent, slotted feed neck, the top tube cut....

                  Early BBt for sure.

Check inside the frame for any markings.... DL, VU, and BE are some you may see for who did the work

Well folks here it is. Needs a cleaning. Anno is amazing.

Frame serial does match gun serial and is scribed BBT.

                      But. Who is A?

great find ! get yourself a gloss black lpr and 3way, and maybe a nice benchmark 45 frame so that matching asa looks better. Then a pre-2k AKA lightning bolt to top it off!

The frame was likely polished on the inside by whoever at BBT did the trigger work, putting a benchmark frame on this particular marker because of its history would be a crime
