got the reg and IVG adjusted and shooting 280 so i should maybe leave well enough alone..... but that's just not me - want to dial in the reg a little better by sweetspotting - but I'm confused -it seems like unscrewing the adjustment screw is raising the pressure - I though screwing it in was how you typically increased reg pressure. or my brain is just farting. are these different for some reason? gun is a sheridan sprung pre 99 minicocker. running anti siphon Co2

WGP regs are backwards - like you've discovered, "out" is up, "in" is down. -
This is typical for moving base style regulators, smart parts being the notable exception but only because they reverse thread their adjustors. Floating poppets are typically in to increase pressure

one question...
I always thought of regulators as a "static" piece of the gas flow.... but are they actually "on demand"? in other words when the gun is not firing the valve is closed, but once flow starts (firing) then the valve opens or am i just seeing the animation used for clarity.

Nope that's correct. They do move but it's a pretty small movement. This is why Bob long torpedos will eventually wear a groove in the sidewall of the bodythats extremely helpful! I've always had a hard time wrapping my head around whats happening in there!

If you look at both of those designs they only open up when the output pressure decreases. Input pressure can change and it won't matter
