    Sniper 3 Body Questions

So yesterday I got my first Autococker and it came with what I believe is a Sniper 3 body (serial 617).

It has no detent or lug adjustment hole so I think I'd rather sell/trade this for a slab side body (assuming this isn't rare/special in some way, which I don't see it being). My ideal slab side body would be the kind with the angled cut on the front of the site rail (98/99 I believe?) but I'd look at anything with a detent and lug hole.

If I were to get rid of this are there any parts I should include with it because they are specific to this body type and wouldn't work if I got a different one? If I sold this what's a good asking? If I traded this for a different slab side would it be a part for part trade or would there have to be cash added on either end of the transaction?

Any insight would be appreciated. I might also ask some other questions here as I dig into it.

    First cocker?! Surprised by that!

I’d probably leave the internals in the body. If it’s just stock then it’s nothing fancy. If you really like the bolt keep it.

I agree you want modern cocker creature comforts with a lug hole and a threaded IVG. Just makes life better for tuning and customization. I don’t have much experience with pre-2k cockers though.

these bodies make great pumps. you can drill a lug hole if you really want one. I have a square slab

        Yep first cocker.

So I'm thinking I'll get rid of it with the parts in the last picture. Unless I'll need the Sheridan type IVG for another slab side? Can the hammer lug be changed to a normal set screw or does it need to be hardened or whatever? Any other parts that should be included or ones that I could otherwise use on another slab side?

I also have some questions about some parts.

Is this ram rebuildable with orings for the bumpers and U seal?

Is this a stock WGP LPR with an adjuster cap?

What is this small brass piece for? I thought it was a coupler for the 3 way but it has no threads.

What kind of internals are needed for this WGP pot metal frame? I thought there was a thread on it but I couldn't find one.

ram is re-buildable, that brass coupler ??(possibly from your ivg?), frame should take pre 98 plates (the sharp edged ones)

That is an original WGP LPR
They were noted for being unstable, blown hoses were common (which is why tophats and wire wrapped hoses are common on older cockers)

The sledgehammer was the replacement, not externally adjustable but they are very stable and excellent
Palmer's came out with The Rock (rock steady) as an upgrade...a lot of early cockers I've seen have Palmer's Rock Regulators

Mini cockers and sniper 3's had their own serial numbers.... Different jig to stamp shorter bodies
