    Oil Friendly Pneumatics?

Are there any pneumatics out there that use oil as a lubricant instead of grease? I'd like to be able to put a couple drops of oil in the ASA and dry fire a bit to distribute. Bonus points if it's completely oring rebuildable and/or higher performance.

To be clear I am not super well versed in semi cockers, but when I have used stock brass pneus I always used oil and they functioned just fine.

It used to be fashionable to throw some drops of Gold Cup lube in the ASA of your Automag or Autococker, but I think Gold Cup over time eats away at BUNA o-rings.

Inception Designs sells an oil I picked up a while ago and seems to do a much better job: https://www.inceptiondesigns.com/GUN_OIL_p/imp-001.htm It is safe for most seals you will find in pneumatics.

Personally I just grease the rings and ignore oil.

        I'd say all of them?

Grease just doesn't leak out like oil and lasts longer.

Gold cup works well, I now use clock oil so I can use it on the pivot point too πŸ‘

Like Ecap said - all of 'em.

Grease tends to stay in place longer is all.

And God turned to Gabriel and said: β€œI shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

β€œBut Lord,” asked Gabriel, β€œIs this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, β€œJust wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

All of my mechanical markers [pump/semi-automatic] I use synthetic air tool oil and I really have never seen the downside [my Sniper II has not needed any seals/o-rings changed in over 20 years and still works fine]. A drop or two in the ASA before airing up and golden.

The only exception to that is my Axe II (soon to be on the chopping block) and that is because the manual specifies use of grease and I suppose when I pick up my new to me M170R I suppose that is the same situation. There is a downside to grease (potentially) if the mechanism was not designed for it due to excess drag and proclivity for holding grit but I doubt that is much a problem for paintball markers.

i use oil on everything but electros cause oil kills solenoids. more electros out there than oil friendly mechs so that's why we see mostly grease in pb shops

amsoil pneumatic tool oil is excellent, very low friction and sticks pretty good, a tiny amount goes a very long way

used this for years without issue.

                This.

Airtool oil for an actual "oil"

But I use anything synthetic synthetic silicone grease for a "Grease". Hell I've even used break caliper grease in a pinch when playing in muddy wet conditions. But I don't recommend it for long term use.

I've used PMI oil in the ASA for many years except with the E2 I had. Never had a problem with any pneumatics- Palmers, stock/STO, Shocktech, Eclipse/Belsales, ANS, etc... I grease the seals during routine maintenance, as well.

Is PMI oil still available anywhere? I'm just about out of my stash, I did pick up 2 bottles of oil from autocockerparts.com but haven't tried it yet.

I have no idea. I've been using the same two bottles for twenty years. I'll have to pick up some air tool oil or the like when I run out.
