setting up a 2k pumper for 12 grams

got a 2k cocker that i set up with a pump. runs great on anti siphon Co2 through a stabilizer. Want to set it up to run on 12 grams for Bacci mountain this weekend. when i took the reg off and plugged a 12 gram in Co2 shot out the barrel till it cocked. velocity was ok but terrible efficiency.

looking for a starting spring combo I suppose - thinking I need a heavier valve spring?

Probably gonna need to put a spacer in to take up volume in the valve chamber too.

Any reason you ran it without the reg?

I run my empire sniper on 12g. No mods, straight through the reg. 20-25 shots depending on conditions

OK - put reg back on and put in a harder valve spring - poof - shot 274 right out of the gate with about 23 shots before it went down hill fast. - calling that good enough for the weekend. thanks as always everyone. still not clear on the spacer concept - would that be a washer or two at the far end of the valve spring? or some thing around the spring?

Only thing I can think about using a spacer for a CO2 Cartridge setup would be a "Devolumizer" behind the valve to decrease the volume of CO2 at pressure behind the valve to the point you have just enough volume to hit desired velocity. The reason for doing this is to attempt to get the absolute max number of shots out of a CO2 Cartridge. This is doable but can be very finiky to do. You are basically starving the valve to the leanest point of volume so they give you very little wiggle room to compensate for variations in temperature/atmospheric pressure, ball size, overbore/underbore...etc.

In the valve chamber before you screw in the pump guide/front block screw. Just reducing the volume in front of the valve.

I also was setting my 2k Sniper for SC. I took off the reg and screwed the bucket straight in, it shot amazing. After the 3rd 12ie, air out the back block and through the feed, completely bleeding the 12 gram in a few shots and can't get to velocity. From what I gather, 12 grams need to go through the reg, so I guess that's just how I'll have to set it up, but was curious what you ended up doing with yours.

This thread is a remake from the old board that I put together on this exact topic.

You can run a sniper without a reg. You just need to play with spring combos till you find a combo that sweet spots around what your particular 12g puts out at a given temperature. It will be finicky and only work at a particular temperature range best.

Like others suggested use a reg and it will keep your sweet spot even at different temperatures. 30 shots is about max what a Sniper will get on 12g. I have tried many different ways to get more but 30s about max without sacrificing and shooting at a lower velocity.

Shit, I’m in Indiana. The weather is too up and down for that, I’d never play lol. I guess my phantom has spoiled me.

Run a good reg and call it a day. I use my stock CCM one. The one everyone says you can’t use with co2. Well mines been working fine for years.

There's a video on YouTube of a guy with a CCM getting like 40 or 50 shots. It didn't drop off until the last couple shots either.

At what velocity and temp tho. That’s not typical.
