I suspect entirely possible but have no experience with it myself. That would be the correct area to put the hole
However, there's an easier way, as long as you are not running a mini cocker in the bottom of the front block there is a plug screw. Get that out and install a gauge. You just need to make sure and find a small enough gauge that it won't hit any other components

honestly it is easier to take it off and use an external reg tester than to leave it on there for play.
I agree with this
A gauge on marker isn't super useful. Really the only time you look at it is if you are already having a problem which, if the problem is with the reg you probably already know anyway
I took the gauge off my empire sniper. Wasn't doing anything useful and got in the way of my hand

I would not do it. It will get in the way of most grip frames, then you are doing the frame reg dance. And not a lot of meat for the threads it will be easy to strip.
